Yeah. I went there.

Haydn > Mozart.

Deal with it.

Thoughts?

On a less urgent note, I would also like to add, btw:
Beatles > Stones, Who > Zeppelin, Peter Gabriel > Phil Collins, Piano > Violin, Contemporary Instruments > Period Instruments, Taco Bell > McDonalds, Obama > Clinton, Star Trek > Star Wars, The House of the Seven Gables > The Scarlet Letter, Simpsons > Seinfeld, Coke > Pepsi (but Cherry Pepsi > Cherry Coke), and Purple > Red.

Comments

  • I don't have any strong opinions about Haydn or Mozart, but I think Led Zeppelin > The Who and violin > piano. I do agree with Taco Bell > McDonalds - too bad I don't eat at either place nowadays.

Haydn v Mozart? Well Haydn himself said Mozart, so...

    Anyway. In order:

Beatles. Don't care. Ha ha hah Gabriel. Piano. Period Instruments (or period style, at any rate). Never had Taco Bell, hate McDonalds so I suppose Taco Bell wins that one. Obama. Star Trek. Never read either. Seinfeld. Pepsi. Purple.

EDIT: Hey, why don't we take the Haydn v Mozart over to the Classical section. I doubt if we'll be able to get it to the level of "fight".

Seinfeld or The Who > The World (that's how it feels to me when one of them is on, anyway)

Here's one for ya: Kinks > Beatles

Here's another: Elvis Costello lyrics > Bob Dylan lyrics

1 more: Getting kicked full force in the nuts < dealing with letting agents (< in terms of how painful I find it)
  • Beatles = Stones? Can't decide!

Who > Zeppelin (which is a little like Full House > My Two Dads)

    Peter Gabriel > Phil Collins

    Piano > Violin

    Contemporary Instruments > Period Instruments

    Taco Bell > McDonalds

    Obama v. Clinton, agnostic

Star Wars (first 3) > Star Trek

Star Trek (any) > Star Wars (last 3)

The House of the Seven Gables > The Scarlet Letter

    Simpsons > Seinfeld

Coke > Pepsi (but Vanilla Pepsi > Vanilla Coke)

    Red > Purple
  • Well, Compulsive, we agree on 9 of 13 points so I must come to the conclusion that you're a decent human being. ;) JK. But I'm glad to see at least one other person who likes the House of the Seven Gables more than the Scarlet Letter. And in general I agree that the original Wars trilogy is significantly better than the three prequels.
  • Beatles > Stones
    Who > Zeppelin
    Peter Gabriel > Phil Collins
    Piano > Violin
    Period Instruments > Contemporary Instruments
    Taco Bell > McDonalds
    Obama > Clinton
    Star Wars > Star Trek
The Scarlet Letter > The House of the Seven Gables
    Simpsons > Seinfeld
Pepsi > Coke (but Cherry Coke > Cherry Pepsi)
    Purple > Red.
  • stones > beatles
    who > zep
    violin > piano
    simpsons > seinfeld
    red > purple
    grant hart > bob mould
warm bath with a book > warm bath with a cold
chinese food with chopsticks > chinese food with fork
pancakes with blueberries = waffles with strawberries
sliver under thumbnail > phil collins

there, i think i covered it all.
  • Haydn > Mozart. Agreed, my comments on this are in the other thread.
    Beatles > Stones. Agreed.
Who > Zeppelin. I like the Who but am not so familiar with Zeppelin, so Who by default.
Peter Gabriel > Phil Collins. Except in Genesis.
Piano > Violin. Agreed. Try transcribing Beethoven's symphonies for the violin. But the String Quartet at least rivals the Piano.
Contemporary Instruments > Period Instruments. I have enjoyed excellent performances on both, but given one or the other, I would choose Contemporary Instruments, especially since it includes synthesizer performances.
Taco Bell > McDonalds. I'll eat at Taco Bell at the food court, but I avoid McDonalds.
Obama > Clinton. Hopefully. Bill Clinton wasn't all that great a President.
Star Trek > Star Wars. That's a tough call. If I had to choose one or the other, I would go with Star Trek for its greater quantity of material. Also, Star Wars loses points for Ewoks and Jar-Jar Binks.
The House of the Seven Gables > The Scarlet Letter. I don't remember the former well enough to have an opinion.
Simpsons > Seinfeld. Absolutely. No question.
Coke > Pepsi (but Cherry Pepsi > Cherry Coke). Pepsi tastes better, but I have stopped drinking cola all together.
and Purple > Red. Well, my desktop theme is in shades of purple, and I prefer lilacs to roses.
  • "On a less urgent note, I would also like to add, btw: Beatles > Stones"

    The Smiths >>>>>>>>>>>> The Beatles.
  • Beatles > Stones
    Zeppelin > Who
    Peter Gabriel > Phil Collins
    Chick-fil-A > McDonalds > Taco Bell
    Obama > Clinton
Star Trek = Star Wars (too close to call)
    Anything > The Scarlet Letter
Early Simpsons > Seinfeld > Later Simpsons
    Coke > Pepsi
    Orange > Everything

Hmm, saying The Who is/was better than Zep and preferring Taco Hell were about the closest to getting me riled up...

    Beatles>Stones OK.
Who>Zep not OK - only own Live At Leeds which is one of the best live records ever, but I always hated Baba O'Reilly, sorry, and I have the complete Zep. I'm sorry ;if this is Fight Club you're not supposed to say you're sorry. And Mozart>Haydn.
