    palenque palenque is an awesome choice.

    Yeah, I was going to say that Palenque Squared will most likely make my top 20 if I include reissues.

    Personally I was disappointed in the Robyn Hitchcock - didn't think it was as good as the other Venus 3 albums. I'm beginning to think I should have grabbed the entire Gil Scott-Heron.

    The Soundways material is always wonderfully curated, even without the liner notes, that their releases seem like new music.

    Maybe it's not as good as the other Venus 3 albums, but I definitely enjoyed Robyn Hitchcock's latest. The Afterlight is a great song. Personally I've liked Robyn Hitchcock's last 4 albums more than his early stuff. I think he's gotten better with age.

    It's good to see the White Denim on your list. Being free, it might be easily overlooked but it's a heck of a good album. It'll be in my top 10 if I get around to compiling it.

    I may not be alone, but I know that in general, I invest more attention into music I've bought than that which I got for free, with that which is always free suffering the most. However, I've dl'd a lot of great free music this year--a good listing of that would probably rival any generic best-of.
