Coltrane Interstellar Space $2.99 Amazon

This is one of my favorite Coltrane albums, but be warned, this is full on, fire breathing, 1967 vintage, avant-garde 'Trane. It's a series of duets between 'Trane and drummer Rashieed Ali that was recorded in the flurry of activity prior to 'Trane's death that year. Wasn't released until '73, IIRC. Kind of a more obscure recording, but if you enjoyed any of the live recordings where 'Trane and Elvin go off and do their thing, you'll definitely need to hear this.

  • This is my favorite late period Coltrane album. I actually find it more accessible in many ways than most late-period Coltrane. In any case, the playing is superb, and this is a great find at that price.
  • Thanks. I nabbed it.

Would it be worth having a running amazon .mp3 download deal since amazon offers up a deal on a daily basis?
  • Sounds like a good idea, Cap't. Want to start it?
  • @thirstyear...excellent point, especially compared to something like Live in Japan or The Olatunji Concert.
  • I better like this, or somebody owes me a beer...
