Goober says what?
The heat was everywhere, no wind made it through the cedar break, the sun blazed
dry clumps of grass crackled under his boots
there were no annoying insects buzzing around
at least they were governed by the need to stay alive out of the sun
the metal parts of the shotgun burned to the touch
sweat trickled down his forehead and the small of his back
fear pounded in his ears
did he really think he could do this and not pay
he knew the clearing was just ahead, less than 50 yards
