Is this the place where we're putting our own Top 10s for the year? I'll do that! FWIW, my No. 1 is a non-eMusic disc (DJ Sprinkles' Midtown 120 Blues).

Yikes! Kenny (and Mommio), you are right. It's my mistake.
I assumed, foolishly and hastily, that the top blog post was the same one just posted over on theYeah. ILX is a rapid-fire serve-and-volley of exchanges between music reviewers and obsessives. It's fast-paced (facilitated by the simple page formats), has high levels of participation, and features some very sharp and witty writing. OTOH, it's…I don't agree that it's so obvious. The top-level blog post is full of vitrol (THE PAYOUTS WERE SUPPOSED TO GET BIGGER!), all of which, it is clear to me, is designed to bolster the author's preexisting gripes against eMusic's recent changes. But …(Quote)
My thought is that the blog author sounds like he started with an anti-eMusic agenda.I figured Joe read eMusers and ILX (like Yancey did, I believe).lol.
My dream scenario: Two major labels arrive simultaneously! (And no price-hike!)
Hi Joe.Oh no, it isn't streaming (not with the way they're teasing it).
My -- shockingly obvious -- guess, given what was in the NYPost article: New major label(s).(Quote)
You're anti-Pandora? What is your concern?(Quote)
Yeah, that Advisory Circle disc is trippy and awesome. Including the Advisory Circle disc, there's only four Ghost Box titles on eMusic. T…haha. Oh yeah, I meant niche. Not Friedrich Nietzsche. Not that surprising, actually. Lots of short songs, best priced as a bundled album.
BTW, I totally recommend more stuff from the Ghost Box label. Spooky and trippy sound collages.(Quote)
It will all settle down. eMusic has its nitche. It isn't going to survive as iTunes-lite, and I think management knows it.For me it's Reggae/Dub:Summer as Dubstep:Winter.Winter is dubstep-season for me. We're going to the DC area tomorrow. It will be cold, with snow flurries later in the week, so that means . . . Burial; Shackleton; King Midas Sound; Deadbeat; DJ/Rupture (although his version of dubstep is more wa…Do you use Juno Downloads, Martyna? That -- and RA -- have been invaluable resources for me in the dance-type genres.Man, Midtown 120 Blues is so good. I've heard people criticise the opening rant by Sprinkles, but I think that's my favorite track! The other favorite -- the one with the slowed beats, slurred sound and the vocals about the guy (prob…RA is great. It focuses on genres that interest me only somewhat (electronic and dance), but the writing is very good and they have excellent taste (at least within that section of electronic and dance music that I like).
BTW, former St…Has anyone posted the Resident Advisor list yet?
Resident Advisor -- Top 20 Albums
20. Moderat - Moderat (BPitch Control)
19. Peverelist - Jarvik Mindstate (Punch Drunk)

Definitely. Tho at eMusic, I imagine there's some extra layers of pride at work regarding Girls.(n.1) They were the act that eMusic most loudly hyped when the Selects compilation was released earlier this year, and Girls' success…I have a lot of the eMusic Top 60 and Pitchfork Top 50, tbh (24/60 and 28/50, respectively). Just got a lot of music this year, incl. more classical and jazz (largely thanks to this board, so thanks).Yeah, I had problems downloading the last two discs I bought. So be it. I got a lot.
Honestly, I'm not that impressed with the service aside from the sale. But I'll check back in on it from time-to-time.Come back, $2.00 an album sale.
Miss you boo.The sale is over, right? Gah, still, can you please identify which Trojan boxes you meant in the comment below?

(And, if you could, a link would be great!)New Pantha du Prince single! He switched labels, so eMusic should get his new disc.(Quote)
Yep. Tho, at this point, I'd say Burial's Untrue -- or maybe The Knife's Silent Shout -- is my favorite of the decade.(Quote)
It's certainly the largest list of lists. The challenge is separating the wheat from the chaff.(Quote)
Oh, I don't know about this. Kid A is one of -- if not the -- best rock album of the decade. A jazz album of the decade could do worse looking for a comparison.
Besides, I think 6 is a bewitching …Kinda diggin' The Sevens. It sounds like an homage to big U.S. cities at night. There's a lot of odd time-changes and time-signatures happening here, but I don't know enough about tempo to really dissect them.
I can't say it gra…Lala's pretty comprehensive, but I'm starting to spot some omissions here and there. The discs you mention, for example. Also missing: Titles from reissue labels Sublime Frequencies and Analog Africa.
I'll check out those Berne discs o…
