So I nabbed the Rodrigo y Gabriela disc, among many others. Totally worth it. Also got most of what's in the bullet-point above, plus a few others:

In A Silent Way is now $10.00.
I guess it would be less if you applied toward the price some credits that you had previously accumulated by recommending discs to other Aime Street subscribers, maybe? Of if there was a … -
The "buy now, download later" thing helps. I take it that RECs means your recommendations, and you get credit when someone buys a disc based on your recommendation?

I hear you. My feeling is (a) I'm on the 100 DL/month plan, so I'm getting roughly 8 -- 9 albums a month at roughly $5.00 an album, which I can't match elsewhere for the things I want, and (b) I don't want to work as hard as it would be to comparis…

I hope it was a glitch. They may have hemmoraged customers, but that wouldn't be the way to stop the losses.

So Sony's titles at Aime Street are, on average, more expensive than Sony's titles at eMusic. And indie titles at Aime Street are more or less expensive than indie titles at eMusic, depending on demand.

How much is it?

Now it's $8.98. This is why -- along with selection, navigation, editorial content issues -- I'll never be an Aime Street fan. -
I think tomorrow's going to be the big day for me. I've got to start reducing my que, which has 150 discs in it. The likeliest contenders for immediate download:

You've got to get the Jack Johnson disc. It's Miles Davis proving his band could be the best rock act on the planet, if he so desired.

If you don't have it already, GRAB MILES DAVIS' IN A SILENT WAY ASAP.

That would be a shame, because editorially they haven't changed since Sony's arrival. If anything, I think they've shown admirable restraint, by not pushing the bottom of Sony's barrel on eMusic subscribers in terms of features and focus.

OTM. Putting the editorial content behind a paywall probably won't be any more successful for eMusic than it was for the NYT. It's a shame, because eMusic's editorial content is out-of-this-world outstanding, AFAIC.So that's the price consideration. I'm referring to the "essential character of the service" consideration.
But I understand what you mean. I've got to say, in my limited experience, Aime Street's prices aren't often competitive with e…I just surfed Aime Street again; it's not for me. I am interesting in hearing reactions from members here to the changes on the Aime Street site, tho.If they're free, trust me: It won't last.
No outcry over the character of Aime Street changing? No complaints about it selling-out, or losing its indie-edge?I mean, I guess the difference in Sony's arrival for Aime Street v. eMusic is that Aime Street is an a la carte program, whereas eMusic is a subscription. So Sony can insist on full price discs at Aime Street and only impact those customers that wa…Why would 50% sales be a "harbinger of Sony's arrival"? To keep customer goodwill when the full-price discs hit the site? How much is the Aerosmith? I have trouble navigating Aime Street (one of my many complaints about it, tho I like the concept (it just isn't for me)).I can't see Sony putting its catalogue on Aime Street without a similar pricing structure to what eMusic arrived at.I'm sitting on 152 downloads that all basically expire at the end of September. And I've got 150 discs in my Saved For Later que. So I'll go on a downloading binge in a few days.Yeah. They're responsible for my favorite cut on the Roots of Chicha disc, Linda Nena. Masters of Chicha is a solid disc (but again, Linda Nena is the standout).(Quote)
This October looks especially fruitful. Which is good, since I think November/December will see almost no noteworthy new releases.Never heard of Polvo before this disc. Now I totally want it and their older material, too.You will not be disappointed. One of my favorite albums ever.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ YESI like the extended soundscans (1:00 on Aime Street v. :30 on eMusic). The selection is still very spotty. And it's too much work. I realize things can be cheaper on Aime Street, but I already feel a bit frantic from having too much music and too…So how is Si Para Usted, Vol. 2? I had it on my Saved-For-Later list, but for some reason, I removed it. I love Vol. I. Maybe I am discouraged to see my que get so large; maybe I felt like I haven't listened to the Latin albums I've got enough to…One of the best indie rock acts of the decade. Amazing talent for taking old elements and combining them in new, exciting ways. Also: Great drum sound; Great use of negative-space/silence to heighten mood and drama.I'm still hooked. My Saved-For-Later list has swelled up to 140 albums, more than it's ever had before. And between now and the end of the year I see dozens of discs on the horizon that will appear on eMusic that I'm anxious to get.
