GP, I like the idea of people whispering the requests. That way nobody has to run the thing. When someone has all the requests they want to fill they can edit their post to say the offer's closed. i'd also like to request people not spread this arou…

^^what elwoodicious and thom said. Making something. Being surprised. I'd limit the number of copies folks are expected to send out due to international postage.

I'm fortunate to get paid to do what I'd do anyway, except that instead of writing bespoke business software, I'd be making a phone game where kittens are falling from the top of the screen, and you have to save them by moving your basket under them…

Just finished Heinlein's Have Spacesuit, Will Travel, another one I inexplicably didn't read long ago. I'll probably start Infinite Jest next, although it depends on my mood when I pull out the Nook. I've got several unread books on there.

Oh, grilled cheese sandwiches are definitely best made the sissy way. Even a manly man such as myself makes them in a frying pan from time to time, especially if I'm making several. On the other hand, if you want one fast without any fuss or mess, t…

choiceweb0pen0 - A flight I was on 2 years ago pushed back from the terminal, ordered electronic devices turned off, then proceeded to sit on the tarmac for an hour. I'd neglected to bring anything printed to read. I spent my time considering a busi…

Kids love grilled cheese sandwiches and they're easy to make. Leave the pans alone - that's a sissy way to make them and it just makes another pan you'll have to soak. Prepare 2 slices of toast for each sandwich. Assemble with two slices of american…

@choiceweb0pen0 - Thanks for the memory jog. I've got a plane flight coming up. I need to make sure I've got something non-electronic to read.

I second the recommendation for the Oyster cards if you're going to be in London more than a couple of days. I tried to avoid having much money on mine when I left but I think it's still got about £15 on it because several times I elected to go on a…
