I use that feature almost every time I use itunes.@kargatron, I've been caught at work (away from my syncing PC) too many times, wishing I could listen to this or that music. That's why I decided to go with max # of tracks.Guvera is being weird for me tonight. On account #1, I had to sign in 3 times before it took. I don't think I fat-fingered the password because that gives an error message. It simply skept showing "Login" on the top right until the 3rd try. then fin…This laptop has USB 2, but itunes is converting everything to 128kbps on the fly. It takes a few seconds for each song.
It's a lot faster if I take that option off, but then of course the ipod doesn't hold as many songs.Well, if you want to go back to the old version, you can - any additions/plays since the upgrade will be lost, though.

Another thought, keep an eye on Windows Media Player. Even if you never use it, a lot of web pages can launch it in the background without you ever knowing it's been done. WMP can wreak havoc on an itu…greg, the itunes forums are pretty useless these days. I didn't mean that to be an advertisement for them ; ) Just that many folks on those apple forums say itunes has deleted their music. There are years of posts saying that.
