Well, to be fair (I know, I know), the existence of eMusic/J might also act as an excuse for them not to further improve their own DLM. Though I personally believe it's more like the usual reason - they hired the people who built the DLM on a…

It all depends on the fee structure, doesn't it? Since there's kiosk hardware being set up at the venue, not to mention the overhead of recording the show in the first place, it seems rather unlikely that these folks would do this just for a percent…

I stand on top of this album while wearing heavy go-go boots. For the most part it is horrible pop with pre-punk soiled underwear (thankfully, without needles 'n' pins, though they did include a version of "I Got You Babe").

Guided By Voices fans might like this - the Motel Beds. They're even from the same hometown. Very much a lo-fi, Kinks-inspired sort of affair, and it's free for an e-mail address:
This band, the Guards, tags itself "alternative doom new wave power pop rock & roll" (and also "New York"), but most of it sounds more like a strange and heavily-reverberated hybrid of 90's Britpop, 70's glam-rock, and the 60's Motown sound. If you'd gone with "Super Greg" like I suggested, they would have been intimidated by your super-ness and probably would have just done whatever you wanted."Gregc"? That's even worse! People will think you're a Gregorian Chant fan or something! Next thing you know, you'll be playing Sing Along With The Pope and dressing up like somebody from a bad 80's sci-fi movie.in The download mangler strikes again Comment by ScissorMan March 2011 Next time, ask them for "Super Greg." Or if they don't have that, maybe "Superlative Greg," "Sooper Greg," or "Soupy Greg." Just don't settle for "Subpar Greg" or "Supper Greg," because those don't have that certain, you know, je ne sais quoi. Here's a fairly good record of the alt-rock/grunge/guitar-band variety - not the sort of thing I usually listen to, but quite good for what it is. They're the Minor Suns, from Las Vegas, and the album was apparently recorded live-in-the-studio... An…But they did fire Ron Turner, so shouldn't the name be changed to "Thank-You Note to Bears"?@Germanprof, if this is Windows, what version of Windows is it? Yikes, that album is as old as I am. I should get a copy of the original vinyl LP and see if I can set up some sort of Picture of Dorian Gray situation.Hmm... Also, I don't know if that clip was there when I originally checked...Nick Drake is an interesting choice for something like that. When I first saw it, I figured too much would be left out without the lyrics and the voice, and I still sort of feel that way, but even without vocals the songs are still interesting and e…Well, she's obviously waaaay better-looking than Justin Bieber too, but without knowing the male-to-female ratio of Grammy voters, it's difficult to determine if that was a significant (or major) factor.
