jUj - If you honestly believe your arguments have anything to do with the case at hand, I can't help that, but they simply don't. I and others have tried to fill you in on what the law is, but you refuse to listen and continue to argue against stra…

jUj - I wasn't going to use the term, because I don't think accomplishes much, but every time you respond to one of our arguments you set up a strawman. Each time you completely change the argument to suit your response.

Sleater-Kinney was Sub Pop, but your point still stands.

Yeah, I'm totally signing up with them.
Really wish I could get down to Austin for the 13th Floor Elevators reunion (without Stacy, of course). Seeing Roky last year was so freakin' awesome.

Yeah, that doesn't logically flow from what amc said. He specifically said (and I agree) nothing was copied, thus there was no copyright infringement, thus (to use your words) nothing was stolen.
Also copyright infringement is not the sa…Okay, that was poor phrasing on my part. I have no problem with his heirs receiving funds from the ongoing sale of his music. I do have a problem with them profiting in the way they are in this instance.

I certainly know that everything has to do with money, but up until now you've claimed it was about protecting Marvin Gaye's art.
The top line melody and lyrics are completely different. Copyright law (as ridiculously draconian as it is)…And now, more evidence it has everything to do with money:
They're now asking the jury verdict be 'corrected' to require T.I. to pay…This has nothing to do with protecting 'artistry'. It has everything to do with money. That's why copyright laws are as ridiculously draconian as they are currently. As amc alludes, there is no possible societal value in copyrighting a groove.
Thanks eythian!

Again. Then probably again.
This album...it's simultaneously a declaration of being a proud black man and of war…Yeah, the version of Cut I have has "Grapevine". Really great cover. I've been hitting the British post punk pretty hard the last couple weeks.
Probably about time for me to have another reggae stretch.

Not familiar with that one, rostasi. Looks like a good one, though.

Getting ready for the show in a couple weeks.

My opinion is that you're completly wrong on this one JuJ.
1) Using samples in creative ways is absolutely creativity.
2) Copyright law (not getting into how utterly ludicrously restrictive copyright law is...seriously it's mor…Interesting. I was having the same issue and also have ABP.
I just hit play on some of the above videos without disabling it, though, and they play like normal.

It is pretty amazing. I had no idea governments have authority in the afterlife.

Yeah, and frontman of Women died not too long later.
Weird situation.

Doofy, Doofy, Doofy. You have to see Viet Cong. They got off to a bit of a slow start (there were sound issues), but once they got rolling, holy crap. They closed with "Continental Shelf" and "Death" and both tracks were even better than on the a…
Grime compilation.

A gentle singer/songwriter who is somehow opening for Viet Cong tomorrow night.
