@GP: excellent anecdote. We do have food trucks in some parts of the U.S. and some are more regulated than others. I live in the Dallas area where they have to go through silly hoops …

Love that Bill Evans album, Doofy. It was one of my first jazz cd purchases. The clinking glass though reminds me of a Mingus live album where he demands no class clinking or cash register ringing.
-
But where else can you get a suitcase of hamburgers? It's basically drunk food. Five guys are good and greasy though.
-
Feeling a bit lazy to make my own choices today, so went with some resent listens on here, so thanks Doofy, Lowlife, and Bad Thoughts, just ran through your latest listens and enjoyed them all. Thanks!

NP Plong. I forget sometimes that albums and artists leave and return on eMu.

Was listening to several podcast this morning since it's pledge drive time on my local NPR station and I gave them some cash last fall, but now:

Speaking of the Talking Heads, has anyone else ever seen True Stories? David Byrne co-wrote and stars in it. Quirky in a good way.

Jonah: I think it was supposed to be a glitch in the head's of characters that were cyclones but they didn't know it (yet or maybe ever?)
That's the best I could manage at the time without doing any kind of research, so could be wayyy of… -
Not sure if they're freshly dropped or not, but I noticed that Olafur Arnalds has three albums in the U.S. anyway and they're all under $5. I wanted to add …

Oh and now that I think of it, and since it pertains to a music discussion board, there is an uncanny moment (episodes) in one of the mind seasons of BSG when several characters start to hear pieces of "All Along the Watchtower"

I enjoyed the Battlestar remake too. It felt like a it had a lot to say on the Post 9/11 era with robots that didn't realize they were robots, yet alone people onboard the title ship start worrying that there is are terrorists among theme etc. I agr…

Thanks Craig! Despite not having the word NOW in it, the Stax #1's looks worth considering.

Welcome elide.
Soon, no one will be on Emu's official discussion board. Mwhaahaha. -

I agree. I appreciate such advice and know from experience that if you start with the "wrong" book by someone, you may not want to read another book by them.
-
Wow, thanks Craig. This is hilarious! It inhabits that gray area of needing to just know a little about his work to find it funny, but the more you know, the funnier it is.

I hope that Apple loosens up a bit, but I can least shop around. I have my library mostly up on Google, but it is just not a great playback experience, at least the last time I tried. Am sloowwwwly uploading music to Amazon's cloud.

Just saw this article that lays out the features of Apple's iTunes Cloud storage. The track limit, rather rigid music l…

According to Amazon's latest MP3 newsletter, the newest Black Keys album "El Camino" is $5 all week.

I've downloaded from Daytrotter for awhile too. Great way to get a fix of an artist you're into or to check out some you don't know. I didn't realize they started charging, but $2/month isn't bad.
-
That is an insane price when someone could get the physical CD and DVD combo for that much.
-
Welcome Lowlife, we are a friendly and useful bunch.
Sorry about Jonah. -
This month is an album of Beethoven and Ries Violin Sontas

@amclark and cafreema: Sad about Sufjan too. Also sad about his most recent album. It's difficult to listen to often. The EP before it though is catchy.
-
Actually decided to go with some stand-up, Patton Oswald's Werewolves and Lollipops. Picked up one of his other albums, My Weakness is Strong, on eMusic many moons ago. Great to have some stand-up for long road trips.
-
It's hard not to wonder, especially with the new approach to answer very few questions or legit complaints on the eMu Message board.
-
What a rough week for music biz people.
-
Np Craig. Thinking about that album among others like Cloud Nothings.
