Hi Rod, I've been listening to both versions of the death and resurrection of Christ that you sent me. Thanks again for that and indeed the rather splendid Penderecki at 80 collection. Reason for the mail is that I can't seem to find any details online regarding the version conducted by the man himself. Do you have any? Just my curiosity is all. Hope all is well. Best Dave H.

Cuneiform have initiated a $5 Friday sales pitch on Bandcamp as many of you will know. Being a weekend anarchist I availed myself of the initial offering at 8.20 Saturday morning. Please don't tell the teacher on me.

Most of my "lean back" listening would be putting a player on random; a player that contained music I'd actively sought out. Even though I may like the music played I find myself getting bored much more easily by say a radio show on WFMU or someone'…

Couldn't you just have played KISS like any other teenager??? Only joking I don't need to know how old you were in 1974!

Currently down for me just after a funds refresh too... Also I was trying to find a Dave Sumner recommendation.... Knew I should have gone to Bandcamp ;-)

Sorry about the big picture there.

Well the Double Bubble sale was on last weekend and Tzadik got most of the cash as expected. Interesting composer (he says catching up with music some of it 50 years old...)

After mention on this site I purchased Kayber Mail by Sohail Rana. Unfortunately it won't download although I can play the album in My Music. I alerted Emusic to the fact and got a refund and an apology within 12 hours. So *ahem* credit where it's d…

(Quote) That album got such a great write-up from the NME at the time I bought it as an attempt to get into Steely Dan (yeah I know...) I still can't get much beyond being sort of interested, though it does have me going back and trying again…

Miles Davis and Horns cover by Dave Berg of Mad magazine fame. Used the cover in one of my recent zines for Franks APA.

Another strong compilation from Analogue Africa. The title track is a bit of an unworldly ear worm.

Well it looks like the album is on the Pink Bird Recordings "label" actually it seems to be more a studio than a label; it must be near impossible for Emusic to keep up with tiny projects like these (esp. if they are relying on … -

Hey BN do you know this one? Works very well with just two instruments so there's space (but it is a bit busy)
