You want < b > and < /b > for bold, or just select-and-click like in a word processor

@Brighternow it's easier than that, don't include the embedding HTML stuff, just the link as you'd have it in your browser.

You also may see an extra 'emusers.org' in URLs. That's an annoying artifact of the proxying.
