Craig, you can change your time window: 12m, 6m, etc.

Since normalisr's been down for quite a while (though updating their pre-established rank-images), someone's developed a sequel that purportedly uses actual times. Seem to work pretty well.

Heh, that one's kinda fun, bn, though, yes, particularly indulgent.

There's FoxyScrobbler.

Yes, it's a major drag that last.fm doesn't incorporate track length. A site called normalisr mitigated that with artist-average-track-length weighting, which was better than nothing, but that site's been mysteriously defunct for a while, though its…

amclark2, you can be sure nothing's scrobbling, because your account notes your last recorded listen is 4 years old.

Yes, Gp, for new accounts, you're given the chance to 'seed' your history with your current digital library file (xml version?). So all your past history (playcounts, dates) in the file goes into their db, and you get immediate stats. That seems to …

Since you can only upload digital libraries to new accounts, I'd vote for a new account, Gp, unless there's a reason you don't want your library-listening publicized. I very much enjoy voyeurizing acquaintances' listening habits on last.fm, and woul…

I like the basic running stats it provides, gives a convenient picture of one's short-, mid-, and long-term listening.

I'm guessing it's just based on something close to artist-listeners/all-last-fm-listeners. Not very illuminating. I think my favorite playground item is the age-gender scatter-plot one linked above, that's pretty interesting.

Though it doesn't currently appear at the FL site proper, this is available through direct link:
Nels Cline Singers - Macroscope
Interesting, so last-played=not-available and playcount>0? Well, obviously some data corruption, but hey, bright side - your smart playlists are working correctly!
Zoviet France's Robin Storey, aka Rapoon, has this very cool live set on what seems to be a nice electronica label (Anodize) worth checking out:
in Bandcamp Goodies Comment by kargatron April 2014Really loving this spoken word album combining Vijay Iyer's deeply groovy settings to stories from African-American veterans, picked up from a Pi Recordings sale on Pi Day:

Because they don't have a strong digital presence, I haven't too often pushed Erstwhile Rec…Awesome - love those 2-for-1s. Might go for 2 $50s, think that's what happened last time. I'll start with one, see how fast it goes.Thom, you must listen to Theory of Machines and By the Throat on bandcamp. Incredible records!bn, fun anecdote - I'd listened to the great performance above, and it went into my fb activity stream. A friend (not a "music friend") posted this on my wall today: (Quote)You can hear all these at Ben Frost's bandcamp page, yay.Thx for that pointer, bn (and you were who introduced me to Frost way back when, for which I'm eternally grateful...). Only $3.43 at emu too!amclark2, quick glance at the track listing makes me think it's all Riverside box set tracks.Nice set from PJ Harvey during Stories From the City tourDiscussion of quiet music brings to mind the wonderful compositions of Jakob Ullman, whose pieces work at the periphery of audibility. You can hear quite a bit on in These are the early morning albums I like Comment by kargatron March 2014TETO, of course, but I find it a bit weird to read this - I have no "morning" musical predilections. Anything goes. Late night is another matter. As a reader contemporary with the original two trilogies, I read "like volumes 4-6, after that, not so much" and say, "huh, there are books after White Gold Wielder??". But also, not so interested anyway. The first six seem enough.Gp, do you face the loss of some grandfathered plan or something? If not, perhaps just cancel, save up a bunch of wanted-but-not-urgent items emusic offers cheapest, then join again down the road. That seems the best strategy. Unless emusic tanks in…amclark2, as I read thom's post, I immediately thought - wonder if Christian Marclay ever used such copies in performance?
