I think you've just put your finger on it - a good pop song makes me do something, tap my foot, hum, nod my head, dance like a loon...
And the perfect pop song only exists for those fleeting minutes when it perfectly ma… -
ahh! Siamese Dream... I'd forgotten all about that one. Seeing your post made me dash off to look for it. Listening to it now, feeling all nostalgic....

My first musical memories are of Oscar Peterson, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald and Eartha Kitt, I've since been told that it was actually the Beatles who were on constant rotation, yet I have no memory of them.

I've mentioned this in a couple of threads before and I know I'm begining to sound like some sort of a salesperson, but, I'll mention it again because it has been so much better than anything else I've tried - Media Monkey. (Oh, and it's free)

Don't know who won, but we did make the national news!
This is what it looked like (taken from a local news site) -
One of my resolutions is to get outside more. Started today by attending a mass snowball fight in the local park. Guess there are some good uses for those personal network sites after all. A foot of snow, several hundred people, one whistle and a lo…

Just had a look at RA, looks very interesting, thanks.

Funny how this time of the year makes you think back, I have this idealistic vision of my home when I was a kid, all snow and forest, skiing and ice skating. I've been tempted to revisit the place but never have. Think I'll stick to the memories.
Media Monkey is freeware. If you want, you can pay $20 (or so) for a gold version which has added bells and whistles. I have, but I wanted the 'we'll-fade-the-sound-and-turn-your-computer-off-while-you-go-to-sleep' feature.

Your situation sound ideal to me. I've had years of a 2hr each way commute to work and only last year started working from home as much as possible. Excellent! Well, perhaps not for you, but they say that any extreme weather round your way arrives here two to three weeks later - snow for chrimus after all.I'm in a commuter town just outside London. The licencing laws were changed here to stop rowdy behaviour at the old 11pm 'chucking-out' time, the theory being that people would stagger their leaving times and stop fighting in taxi ques. Well, they s…Well, I've actually switched my heating off for the last couple of days since the thermometer outside my window said 21 C. I want snow for Christmas!
