@dddan - Thanks for the update. Are those releases going to stay streaming-only, or is it a time release thing? No worries if you don't know or can't tell us - I realize you work f…

@matthew - I feel like I've been listening to a lot of Thao lately, and I didn't even realize that the new album comes out this week/already out/I can't figure it out. It's not l…

Farewell sweet 30 Rock.
After a couple down seasons 30 Rock really went out with a bang this year. The last episode was both fun and sweet - yet another show to best Seinfeld. It had run its course, but I'll still miss it. -
Kill Rock Stars is now onboard. $9.99 and the first batch includes Elliot Smith's Either/Or.
-
@Doofy - nice find with the Fania list. Between your suggestion and that list I've got significantly more salsa in my collection.

A lot of the new releases are working. Of the ones I mentioned I grabbed the latest Alicia Keys, Adele, and Bob Dylan (minus the one 10+ minute track).
The Rounder Records thing is just plain weird. I had tried to download Delta Spirit's… -
"Media not found" for Mumford and Sons, too. Somebody's trying to tell me something...

The new Alicia Keys, as well as The Diary. The new Passion Pit. Both Adele albums. Excuse me for a few minutes...

The new Guards album via Pitchfork. I just have to add that I really dig these full page previews Pitchfork does. The one for YLT's Fade was very cool, and so is this o…

@BT - It's missing the last track, "Desolation Row", which is over 10 minutes. And for some reason they're also missing the title track. Neither are album only on Amazon.

Oh snap. Thanks a ton matthewsalibi (and, of course, dddanmar and team). Hopefully it's all running smoothly tonight when I get home. Guess I'll finally break down and get Mumford and Sons...

Yesterday things went really well, so I grabbed a bunch of albums that weren't downloading before. Luck ran out at night, but I was able to get a dozen albums or so. Hopefully it comes back in the same shape because even after 130 d/ls or so I still…

@dddanmar - Don't worry, we'll keep an eye on it for you ;-) Make sure to cuddle up with the little one when you get home.

Woot! First ECM album I tried that didn't work last night worked this time.
You know it's not a stable business model when most of us probably assumed it was never coming back just because of a site outage on a Sunday morning... -
Bummer, I gave up last night because I kept hitting my problem with ECM albums rarely downloading. Then it was a few other labels. Hate to see all those downloads go to waste, but at this point I really can't complain if I never get another freebie.…

@GP - click on the mp3 format instead and you should get it without the AutoRip logo. Otherwise I tend to use eMusic (they do 600x600) or discogs.com.
-
@karg - I use streaming services from time to time, but a lot of my listening ends up on mobile devices. There's just no way I'm spending 10 bucks a month because I want to play thi…

@Craig - I LOVE that sketch. Great show.
-
@Plong42 - I usually tag and rename about once a week. So all of my downloads will sit that long before I get a chance to listen to them. But this goes for all digital services -…

Oh, once I was on the other end of this:
Back in '96 a friend of mine and I decided to try to get tickets to see Soundgarden at Roseland in NYC (it was their 2nd of 3 nights. Another friend didn't bother and figured he would catch them n… -
I'll copy the one from the other thread, too.
A couple of my sisters and some of their friends were in New Orleans in the mid-90s. My one sister really wanted to go to this small club to check out an up-and-coming soul/R&B singer. No… -

@kargatron - That was one of my earliest complaints, but it will always be fairly track-centric just by it's nature. There are definitely pains, but once you learn how to get a…

Sadly the backlash against Beyonce is newsworthy these days. Even more sad is the fact that live singing is a dying artform.
