10 Years of the ipod

  • Mine all get cycled onto a "Shuffle" playlist that mostly gets played at the gym. I never pass up an Amazon pop/indie sampler, so there's a steady stream of new songs. I have a pretty high tolerance for randomness/disorder, so I like it when stuff comes out of left field. Yes, that includes the Amie stuff! I'm still getting acquainted with some/many of those albums. Suspect the DL folder of one of my computers has Amie zips I haven't even unpacked yet.
  • I have a TON of free singles: every daily from Mordac since autumn 2005, every Amazon daily, all the itunes weekly freebies, and other various web offerings. It doesn't bother me that they're singles. They don't get lost if they're good, because I rate them first listen on the nano.
I am almost talking myself into a new nano for my upcoming birthday...the new model's got a built-in pedometer & FM radio, Bah. I don't need another expensive little electronic device!
  • My daughter just got a new red Nano for her birthday. I will have to tell her about the pedometer!
  • It also has Nike+ built in, if she's interested in that. With my 2nd gen nano, I have to choose between the Nike+ adapter or the lanyard.
  • What started to be a music player has now become a part of their life, and for the very select few, their life. It is sad that producers are robbed under the living daylight. Though, we cannot deny that even at a low income, they have to get it as it will still translate to sales. I get why apple has to get a certain amount from the labels but why is it that they do not get any for ipod sales? Probably because there are a majority that do not even use itunes to get their music.
  • Hi ewebb. I see that you just joined. Welcome. Feel free to tell us a little about yourself, what you listen to....
