LIGHTNING BOLT!!!
I'm still feeling the effects of the rather questionable decision to head into NYC for a show with doors at 10PM. 10?!?! WTF?! Don't these bands know that some of us have to be in bed by 10:30? Anyway, doors at 10, opener at 11, and the main event at midnight. Any other band and I'm not even considering it, but this was for Lightning Bolt. And holy hell was it worth it.
I'll try to write more later, but Lightning Bolt put on one of the best live shows I've ever seen. Gibson shreds the bass better than most guitarists and Chippendale is absolutely nuts on the drums. It was intense and... well... violent. But as exhausted as I am, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I'm actually going to show on Tuesday that doesn't start until 8:00 and on a Tuesday that's late! It's Paul Simon at First Avenue, though, so I think it'll be worth it.
