I was actually going to suggest we take up a collection to buy WMG, but guess it's too late. Interesting to note it will now be privately held.

  • Access Industries is a privately held, U.S.-based industrial group with long-term holdings worldwide. Access was founded in 1986 by its Chairman, Len Blavatnik, an American industrialist. Access' industrial focus spans three key sectors: natural resources and chemicals; telecommunications and media; and real estate.

It's amazing to me how little can be said in so many words. So they work in industries and give access to those industries to make them accessible to other industries is my guess...

If I had the money I would buy WMG and delete its entire catalog, then hold a press conference and ask "Now what have we learned about copyright?"
  • Oh, as long as they have long-term holdings worldwide, that's all right then.

Basically, what's happened is, the Russkies have bought Josh Groban: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Blavatnik
  • I figured we would have had to pay the Russians to take him...
