Beirut - Gulag Orkestar: I'd missed the boat until now on Beirut. The eastern European influence on this album is fantastic.
Craft Spells - Idle Labor: New dream pop/chillwave. Not my favorite of the bunch as it's a bit sugary, but it's not bad.
Cult of Youth - s/t: Dark, vaguely post punk, and somewhat gothic. Recalls bands like The Cure. The lead singer's voice is a bit odd, but it's still quite good.
Frank (Just Frank) - Brutal Wave: New wave revivalists from France. Very recommended.
Martial Canterel - You Today: Again Dark and vaguely post punk, but less gothic than Cult of Youth. Again quite good.

Brother Ali - The Undisputed Truth: Long time coming to get this.
True Widow - s/t: Very good 90s tinged rock.

Okkervil River - I Am Very Far
Bunch of stuff from Bandcamp.

Rollin' - Bill Grant and Delia Bell (bluegrass)
Whacko from Waco -- Billy Joe Shaver (country. Single)
Blues A Catin - Bonsoir Catin (all female Cajun, inc. Yvette Landry who has a good debut solo album on eMusic which is more straight singer-songwriter country than cajun)
Lions and Lambs - Cary Anne Hearst (singer-songwriter)
Dennis Coffey - Dennis Coffey (funk)
Your MOney and My Good Looks - Gene Watson and Rhonda Vincent (country)
Rock With the Hot 8 - Hot 8 Brass Band (New Orleans brass band funk)
12 Songs - Jenny Schneinman (jazz)
Heirloom Music - Jimmie Dale Gilmore (country)
Satisfied at Last - Joe Ely (country-rock)
The Right Combination - Country Cajun Revival (cajun)
Good Morning Little Schoolgirl - Mississippi Fred McDowell (blues)
Negro Spirituals, Roots COllection vol. 10 - Paul Robeson
Dream Come True - Rhonda Vincent (bluegrass)
African Scream Contest - Various (African)
Those Shocking Shaking Days: Indonesia Hard, Psychedelic, Progressive Rock and Funk 1970-1978 - Various
Let's A Go-Go! Singapore and Southeast Asian Pop Scene 1964-69 - Various
Persian Funk - Various (Persian funk!)
Into the Wind- Bei Bei and Shawn Lee (errr, fusion)
And how is Persian Funk ? I saw that in the new releases but I was afraid, very afraid.
EDIT - Holy sacred cow, there's a cover of Wooly Bully, and These Boots Are Made For Walkin' - I'm so there for this one, but even better - a cover of Bang Bang. Wow!
I did an 8tracks of some stuff from various Asian comps if you're interested.
Very nice - but that's not an unprejudiced opinion since I already have most of these albums, but you did prompt me to get Electric Cambodia off the SFL and into the library.
The Japanese Group Sounds comps I got were GS I Love You - Japanese Garage Bands of the 1960's and GS I Love You Too etc. which I really liked - like most of these other bands they are way more than just a goof or curiosity item. I really like this stuff.
Oh, I also got this - La Belle Epoque:EMI's French Girls 65-68, which while nowhere near as funky or interesting was not bad at all (it was in the Other Customers Bought bar with the GS and just the right price to get free shipping - good reasoning, huh?).
Edit - see below - yeah, the Indonesian one is far out.
