Dresden, Germany, last night demonstrations against the increase of Islamic people - worrying echoes of 1930s. Fortunately counter demonstrations in Berlin, Cologne and elsewhere. The sad thing is that I can see it happening sometime soon in the UK too. Reading JUJ's comment earlier, we do have UKIP here, and they are likely to gain votes, maybe Parliament seats, in May's General Election - their main points are to repatriate immigrants and to take the UK out of the EU.
Actually, the demonstrations in Köln last night
were put on by PEGIDA, so they were actually
anti-immigration, but the Dom in Köln shut their
lights off in solidarity with those of us who are
against these racist thugs. Here's a time lapse
leading up to the lights being shut off (it's an mp4 vid).
(I've been reading this morning that
the thugs have been outnumbered by
counter-protesters -TEN times as many!)
