    @craig - I hope you don't mean you're not going to be coming here once you quit eMu. They may have brought us all together, but they're not the unifying force anymore. I've been away from them for months at a time and still keep coming back.

    In the midst of all this peace and love I must confess that #8 seems a little bit harsh on my part, but at the time it was heartfelt and sincere. I've mellowed since.

    @big d - yerp. we're not "what we're not"; we're who we are - and in the scheme of things, we stand pretty damn tall for some rare qualities the web just doesn't dish out. clink!!!

    @craig. yerp. this will be my last hurrah with emu as well. oddly, i have truly good vibe leaving...it just came when, with ten np's left, i found the candy claws 10 np rekkid. discovery wins out in the end - that's my connection to music and i accept it.

    likewise, i'll come here for all good thoughts

    @Craig - Cool beans. There's been a couple people who seemed to feel like once they stopped using eMu they shouldn't come here anymore and I want to make sure that idea gets squished.

    I was thinking of starting a thread along these lines, so I'm glad this got ressurected. I just want to take a moment to say thanks to everyone involved in making this site available (I guess that's at least xtrev and eythian). I really appreciate this website. I quit emusic shortly after the last upheaval - the combination of their website technical issues combined with what seemed to be enjoyment largely going out of the message boards (hello trolls!) led me to the conclusion it wasn't providing me with enough happiness to justify spending my money there any more. But this site has been great for me for music recs, entertaining discussions and occassional thoughtful, respectful disagreement. You people are the best! Friends for life - at least in my book! etc...

    But seriously - thanks for the site and vitrual high fives all around!

    68 - I actually have a good vibe about leaving too. I think it's because the forthcoming changes mean I'm not leaving anything that actually means anything to me. LS isn't a perfect replacement for what eMu was, but it does enough for me.

    thom - You are certainly not getting rid of me. Where else am I going to find someone who's last.fm is so similar to mine that the bar is almost complete?

    Maybe if we're lucky LWS will be able to take advantage of the oppty to skim off some subscribers and fill some of the gap left by eMu. One has doubts about their life expectancy, however.

    Never occurred to me for a minute that Craig would be leaving this board! Wouldn't be surprised to see eMu make you guys an offer you can't refuse, though.

    One feature I like about this software, is when it has trouble authenticating your post, it doesn't LOSE your post. It gives you a retry button.

    There is a good group of people that hang out here and I actually learn many useful things from associating with the folks here.

    I suspect many of you learn things from me as well but sadly most of it is not useful for anything
