  • Don't know where your world extends, but if it includes Brazil, my last (and probably final - I went on hold) purchases included a bunch of Gilberto Gil albums. Among his earliest albums are three that are all self-titled - from 1968, 1969, and 1971. The first one - 1968 - (5-star All Music Guide rating) is excellent, and is just 3.99. The 2nd one - 1969 - (4.5 stars) is also very good, and is 4.99. The 3rd is from 1971 (4 stars) - and is also very good (3.99). I'd put them as 1,3,and 2 for excellence. But perhaps my favorite is a GIlberto Gil album named Rafazenda from 1975. It's on 99 censt (4.5 stars), and is my favorite of the 4.  There are others to explore - if I get back on Emusic I'll start getting the newer albums - there are at least 4 at 99 cents with good All Music reviews

Thanks @bramble, I really like Brazil and Gilberto Gil is certainly on my list
  • Thirded for Gilberto Gil.  Quite a lot if one wants to be a completist, though.
