Why, thank you, I do have a Mac that I can use every now and then, when my ungrateful 14-yr-old is asleep.
Last time I checked, the ones for Windows PCs were not free....which is why I said, "rats" to the rar.

Is 7-Zip free? I believe it works on PCs.

Yes, 7-zip is free, it's fast and light on resources I find, unpacking many compression file types, including .rar , and packs a few too.

Zipeg is a free program that opens RAR and Zip files too with a Windows and Mac Version.

Thanks for this one. Finally got around to listening and it's good.

And I highly recommend 7zip to any Windows users. Excellent program for all your zipping needs.
