new Madonna video

I have always loved Madonna, grew up with her, probably. I just watched her newest free video from iTunes. My advice: keep the sunglasses on, and keep your legs together. I'm the same age as her, and she has had a personal trainer all these years and I have not, but still. Yeesh.

    Madonna has always been about breaking tabus - usually tabus that had been broken with fracas at least a generation earlier by those who live at the cutting edge, but someone's got to help the rest of the world keep up. She's still doing it; now it's the tabu against older women wanting sex, and in particular wanting sex with younger men. Liz Taylor did it years ago, and Cher or Tina Turner a little later on (following a trail that had already been opened by Millie Jackson).

    So Madonna is doing what she's always done.

    I don't find her music interesting, but she's still out there taking the flak. Admirable, in a way. And she doesn't look that bad to me (but then I'm an old man).
