I feel a bit guilty for never having followed through, but it's obvious that I didn't need to - many of those I would have chosen to rec for you given your initial request. Speaking as a legit Nels fan, I can only say that those would suffice to have turned me into one if I were unfamiliar. Lemme know how it goes! His new one is due next month - a studio coupled with a live disc. Can't wait!

(btw, also let me know if you sample that Birth album I rec'd, curious if that floats your boat too.)
  • no need for guilt, i appreciate you taking the time to recommend.
love all that i have heard of Mr. Cline so far, look forward to hearing more.
actually switched from "emusic lite" to "emusic basic" to explore this genre further, i kind of set it aside in the early 80s after becoming saturated with Sharrock, Ulmer, Frith etc.
I will definitely be downloading the Birth stuff when next refresh comes around, it is a boat floater... i just decided to go for the maximum beats per minute on the first dip.
    thanks again.
  • I wonder when the Nels Cline version of Wilco will arrive on the Nonesuch label (i.e., Sky Blue Sky).
