Well, thom, that's another 12 credits of BB booster crack I can kiss goodbye -my sincere gratitude- an evening's easy listening, no, but it is an archive for sure and well worth it if you're so inclined.
JUJ, you are absolutely right with the algebraic analogy - I've known some very educated players whom I respect for the depth of their knowledge, but this translates into their playing as a kind of cerebral sterility that lacks any passion or spontaneity. It's impressive, but not moving, and chances are if you hear them play the same song another night the solos might be nearly identical. The antithesis of this for me was Albert King who only had really about 8 - 10 licks in combination but when the man was on he delivered them with a conviction that it was hard not to be moved by.
Not reckless, Thom, just a different approach. It helps explain to me why eMusic's changes are upsetting others so much more than they upset me. I'm more cautious and conservative when it comes to what I download (even tho I have fairly wide-ranging, eclectic music tastes), so I'm less worried about losing the incentive to take chances.
Might I ever so humbly suggest that you slightly lower the jacked up ass download mangler.
I know they told you in class that you needed to be all synergistic and web 2.0 and all but that crap in your DL mangler is not going to get you there. You are making it too difficult for me to buy your products.
I don't want to use your mangler to surf and browse, I don't want it syncing up with my mp3 player and screwing it to hell, I don't give a shit what all the other cool kids are downloading so stop asking me if I want the latest greatest browser/downloader/can opener/ expresso machine in the world.
By the time I greenlight the firewall It is taking me upwards of 10 or 12 clicks to download one stupid song. Please bring back DL mangler 3.0
I'm using version 4.1.2, and it has been working for both albums and single tracks. I had trouble at first. Don't know what I did to make it work, but I fiddled with a number of things. I deleted cookies and temp files. I uninstalled the old one (still have the set-up file saved as I usually download the set-up, then install, rather than installing from online). I uninstalled the new one, then installed it again, saving the file to my hard drive and installing from there. I double-checked my firewall to make sure the DLM had permissions. I had long ago deleted/uninstalled the eMusic toolbar, as it caused me too many problems.
Don't know that this will help you, but the cleaning out all DLM files, then reinstalling the new one seemed to do the trick.
No, no, no!!! I know the target of the anger. I'm just missing those JUJ posts of old.
Even the freebies don't diminish my dissatisfaction with what TPWSNBS has become. I still have 86 credits to use (the new 50 + 36 from a Best Buy card) plus one more Best Buy 100 card and my September refresh (comes near the end of the month). I find that I am choosing downloads ever more slowly. All that excitement and rush to get something new just seems to have evaporated.
I will probably spend most of the credits on classical, which seems to be the genre that's getting the most play from me these days. I haven't yet decided whether or not I will stay there, but if I do, it will be a monthly subscription, not an annual.

But what now?

That snark was not intended for you, but in rereading it I can see that it might be interpreted that way.
As always mommio you are the wind beneath my wings. All snark was intended for TPWSNBS.
It truly pisses me off that I am being forced to become a information science technician just to cue up some tunage.
Imagine if you will buying a car from your local dealer but before you could drive it home you had to crawl under the hood to overhaul the carburetor.
Again my apologies mommio if you perceived any anger directed at you, it most assuredly was not.

TPWSNBS is a real kill joy, these days.
