Cecil Taylor box

edited June 2010 in Jazz
Picking up on a thread started by okierambler over on the eMu messboard, there is a deal to be had over at Limewire Store on the new Cecil Taylor box. 10(?) disks for $9.99 at the moment...available for 12(!) DL credits too.

I re-upped to make this happen. Just when I thought I was out...they pull me back in.

  • Thanks for the heads up. I just joined to snag it.

Any one know of other great buys?
  • Part of my rationale (rationalization) was the fact that Clean Feed is still non-album priced at Limewire. For the moment. I'm interested in checking out other labels affected by the IODA change at eMu. One thing to watch out for is that some new releases are cash-only at Limewire.
  • What a pain in the ass downloading is! I can't use Limewire, because the network at work is scanned for p2p software (I'd have my jack shut off and some splainin' to do). I download track one at a time that routes you every time to the "download limewire" page totally sucks the big one.
  • Yup. I have no such network concerns, but I'm not comfortable with the P2P thing. I DL them a handful at a time.
  • I have been enjoying the few Cecil Taylor albums I got from Guvera, so I thought I would give the limewire store another try. When I go there, the page is completely text, whether using Firefox 3 or IE 8. Even tried Safari, same result. Any idea why this should be?
  • Works for me. linky

Are you somewhere where the internet provider would be filtering your access? Maybe the limewire term is triggering off a filter to preventing you getting a fully functioning page.
  • "Are you somewhere where the internet provider" - Possibly, but I do not think our IT guy is that good. It is more like the style sheet is missing, since I get all the data, no graphics. I never have any trouble with other sites and can get on the regular Limewire page fine. I'll try it at home this evening.

It reminds me of using Lynx to browse the new-fangled "worldwide web" back in the day.
  • I think I had that problem with Limewire once ... not sure if it was home or work ... but now it seems to work fine.
