Figuring out how to use Guvera effectively has helped me add some interesting title to my collection and freed up eMusic for the more track heavy albums.

    eMu

CocoRosie - Grey Oceans: Loving this album quite a bit.
Dum Dum Girls - I Will Be: Enjoyable, but I don't think it will stick with me.
School of Seven Bells - Disconnect From Desire: Again, I like it, but not sure how much.
The Heavy - The House That Dirt Built: Perfect for when I need to rock out.
Maya Beiser - Provenance: Perfect for when I need to chill out. I'm so glad they did that Innova sampler.
Sun Ra - Lanquidity: I thoroughly enjoy it. My wife...does not. So it hasn't been listened to as much as I'd like.

    Amie

It has been a lousy couple of months on Amie for me, but I did get some good electric/synth stuff:

Skream and Benga - Trapped in a Dark Buble/Technocal: Good dub split single.
Glasser - Apply EP: Looking forward to the LP.
Four Tet - Sing: Snagged it at free. I never got the LP. Really should get around to that.
Weed - Hard to Kill: Fantastic and free.
Rick Lucy - Era Sick: A Prologue to Destroying Beauty: Big thanks for the Rec from...elwoodicious? I think? Also, free.

    Guvera

Gang of Four - Entertainment: As detailed elsewhere, a lot of it is faulty.
Public Image Ltd. - Second Edition: Getting the last track today, and so far all good tracks.

    Edited to add Amazon

The Roots - How I Got Over: Just what you would expect from them.
Janelle Monae - ArchAndroid: Very good chance of making my end of year Top Ten. Fantastic stuff, except for the track with of Montreal, which sucks.

Taking a little break from emu this month.

    Amie
Darkness, by Scott Walker, from Plague Songs
Janka Nabay - Bubu Music (just the tracks that were not on Bubu King)
The Walker Brothers - Nite Flights (just the first four, Scott Walker penned, tracks)
Blank Tapes - Home Away from Home
Deepak Sharma and Dieter Krause - Kings and Castles EP - I managed to get everything else from this label (Hidden Recordings) for free, and really kind of liked some of it, so I shelled out for this one to close the loop.
Dragging an Ox Through Water - "rebukes!"
Neu! - Neu Digital Box - I had Neu! and Neu '75, but got the box for $10 Amie money, which is about what it would have cost me to get Neu 2 anyway, so the rest is icing.

    Brick and Mortar

I sold a bunch of stuff at my favorite brick and mortar place, and bought this stuff:

    Jannelle Monae - The ArchAndroid
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Tender Prey
Liz Phair - Exile in Guyville (used) - I never had this before, but the thread about her newest one at emu sparked my interest; amazing how many used copies there are now that it's been remastered - I prefer original mixes anyway - feels more authentic.
David Sylvian - Secrets of the Beehive (used)
Buzzcocks - Singles Going Steady (used)
Warren G - Regulate...G Funk Era (used) - more catching up on the mid-90's.
  • Amazon
    Iggy Pop - The Idiot
Local Natives - Gorilla Manor (glad I finally hopped on their bandwagon)

    Butterbrain - S/T
    Active Shild - Curtis Lane
Au Revoir Simone - Night Light
    V/A - Sprout Soundtrack

Glasser - Apply EP (love it. can't wait for the full length)
    Grasscut - 1 Inch/ 1/2 Mile (excellent)
