Hey 68. . .
Holiday ? - I've got to look up that word someday and find out what it means.
I've never heard of Alexander Bonus.
- Sounds a bit like a synthesized version of Andreas Vollenweider to me and really did'nt catch me from the clips.
sampled smickler + have put a request in to our local library to acquire - i'm trying to avoid hevvy dl hits (this one is 9 stateside) so plan b goes into effect. i've also requested mono: hymn to the immortal wind. it usually takes about 2 weeks to get the materials, but my contact tries to get 100% of my recs...a few times the sources are unavailable to her tho.
salvador dali, huh? i'll try it in about an hour - thx for the recs!
btw...i'm building a mix. starts out with xtal by aphex twin and is followed by woman's worth (off a classic goes lounge comp on emu). toss in single trax recs to build around the flow.
edit:
the only problem with the suggested track is that it really can't be followed by anything, but it would certainly be perfect for "Le Grande Finale" in such a mix. (as it is on the album)
Oh yes . . .
You may want to check out this Warp sampler that was released about the same time as the Selected Ambient Works albums:
Artificial Intelligence
- There's 2 wonderful Autechre tracks on this.
- Track 1 by the Dice Man is Aphex Twin under one of his many monikers.(Polygon Window is another. - great album btw.)
- and the Alex Paterson (The Orb) track is great.
Hey Nerf, interesting reading. Thank you very much. - (link)
It's strange that the composer, Igor Wakhevitch, is'nt mentioned on the eMu page.
There's some info about him here and on Wiki.
- And some info about Etre Dieu, found on some blog:
Line up :
- Salvador Dali : narration
- Jean Luc Bentolila : claviers
- Sylvio Gualda : percussion
- Francois Auger : percussion
- Marc Ripoche : violon
- Raymond G
