Free All Music? (Guvera Copy-Cat)

edited October 2010 in General
This morning I received an advertisement from something called "Free All Music" to get one free track for liking them on Facebook. I really don't know what the deal is with it. Conceptually, it's like Guvera, awarding credits (when available) for watching sponsored ads. Perhaps it even does Guvera better, promising credits as rewards for performing certain actions. The introductory offer is on the low side. I tried downloading a long track from Pharaoh Sanders, which failed part way through.

Take it for what you will:

  • I got this to work, though I had to use MSIE to make the download happen. Selection is somewhat limited (some stuff from major labels).

No doubt advertisers would be willing to pay people for "liking" stuff on FB! That is a real value, in contrast to one person "looking at ads" on Guvera. You are giving them access to your FB info, not sure how much of it. You also agree to receive e-mails.
  • I got the e-mail, too. But I'm unwilling to do it through Facebook at this time - especially if all I get is one stinkin' download.
  • I was in on the beta test, which offered five free DLs a week. You had to watch a 30 second commercial before each DL. Very similar to Guvera.

I'm not a big fan of the new, Facebook-ized version, tho. I'm a cheap bastard who loves me some free music, but I'd prefer not to be so public about it.
  • Bah. I un-liked them. In return for one DL, they subject you and your whole FB world to an American Express ad every few days. Ad-supported music fail.
