Craig, Craig, you're killing me here...I actually have 8 of those albums. They had to pick the one R.E.M. album I have? It was a special over at Amazon. They're going to take back my (G)old Fart card.
I have 52 1/3 from the Spin list. (the 1/3 being the first volume of 39 love songs)
I had at one point, but sold or lost, another 25, many of those on cassette, or better yet dubbed cassette.
And I can't remember whether I owned Portishead's dummy or not.
So all told maybe 78 1/3.
But 25 years puts me at age 12, so this list is pretty square on with my music buying years. And I was a Spin junkie from maybe 90 or 91 (that first Prince cover was my first issue) 'till around 2000.

The Grammy nominations, which are a sort of best of, are up. Some forum favorites who are nominated:
Laurie Anderson
Arcade Fire
Black Keys
Solomon Burke
Carolina Chocolate Drops
Darcy James Argue's Secret Society
Florence and the Machine
Gorillaz
Herbie Hancock
Dave Holland
Vijay Iyer
Keith Jarrett
Elton John and Leon Russell

Lee Scratch Perry
Esperanza Spaulding
Mavis Staples
They Might Be Giants
Richard Thompson
Ali Farka Tour
Oh, I hadn't even thought about the Grammy Jazz nominations, I think they look great. This is one of at least a couple news stories expressing "surprise" at Esperanza's nomination. I guess that's because of her youth...otherwise, it's hard to think of a new jazz artist who has created so much buzz. (Unless of course you count Norah.)
Oh Spin. You get Titus Andronicus in the top 15? Good. You put that dreck from M.I.A. in the top 10? I need to question my love for the Titus Andronicus because clearly you have some sort of aural disability.

Beautiful, thanks! Rock with some testosterone in it is great, doesn't have to be "metal." I may have to go with the Warp Riders, just as a special treat for my brother-in-law.
Dropped 60 bucks at the local record emporium, which made me feel very merry. I got the Sword, Dungen, and Kylesa *with* the bonus DVD y'all. Plus Sufjan for the emo nephew. Thanks for the assist, I may be back for more reccs...
Are we allowed to post our own here? Well, I'm going to. There are 32, and in no particular order. Half way through writing em up on the blog. Just the new music, have another list of reissues, compilations etc
I have asterix'd the ones available (for me at least) on eMusic, since that's about half of them you can see why I can't leave no matter the eMusic provocation!

Dagger
lots of top 10s and reviews
Having LCD Soundsystem #1 though is lazy at best. That album has only 3 and half good tracks and the rest is just filler.
Craig
I'm surprised I actually have 49 of them. Including #1, which I like, but....no. Not even close.

can't really complain about their no. 1, but . . . ughhhhhh

I think maybe Kylessa sounded like something that would appeal to my inner teenage metal fan, but I haven't gotten it (yet.)
Much to my pleasant surprise, Dessa comes in at #20. I'm not just a homer!
