@djh and @greg, if you like The Pentangle then do try Fotheringay's s/t album from 1970 which, if anything, I prefer to "Basket of Light"..
This is with Sandy Denny as lead vocalist following her leaving Fairport Convention.
I am a big fan of Sandy Denny and my favourite fact about her, to quote AMG is that "She.....sang in duet with Robert Plant on Led Zeppelin's "Battle of Evermore" becoming the only guest vocalist to perform on any of the band's albums"!
@peterfrederics I'm guessing you'd like this book, if you don't already know it,
I'm happy to try that Fotheringay again but, keep this to yourself, I'm not the world's biggest Sandy Denny fan. I know, I know, start building the Wicker Man.

@djh thanks for the tip regarding "Electric Eden". Looks like an excellent read.
"Dreamies: Auralgraphic Entertainment" by Bill Holt
An amazing work from 1973. AMG says "Inspired by the aural collage of the Beatles' "Revolution Number 9," as well as the musique concrete of composers such as John Cage and Terry Riley and Bob Dylan's conscientious rock lyricism, Bill Holt quit his straight job in 1972 to follow his musical muse, hoarding various electronic gadgets and an acoustic guitar and holing up in his basement. He emerged a year later with Dreamies, one of the finest pieces of experimental pop from the era."
Great choice! So glad that despite my then mixed feelings about Blue Note this was one of the (many) re-issues that I picked up when FOPP were selling them off cheap.
From late in his career and maybe his own abilities were not quite what they had been, but still an essential release IMHO. A good version of Cumbia & Jazz Fusion. First track Goodbye Pork Pie Hat is introduced by Mingus as "A tune recorded by Jeff Beck" (which it was the year previously, who knows how far his tongue was in his cheek). Recording quality is pretty good for this kind of archival set.

I remember Fortheringay well. I actually lived near the village they were named after in the late 1970s and early 80s. As an aside it also had a nice pub!

Great minds think alike (or something similar)!

AMG says "In Rainbows will hopefully be remembered as Radiohead's most stimulating synthesis of accessible songs and abstract sounds".
