Still have windows, and haven't lost power, the neighborhood isn't flooded, so I consider us lucky. Haven't been out - two trees down in front of the building - don't know if anything is open out there, but did stock up. Looks like I won't be gett…

Working for me on Firefox on Mac with Snow Leopard. Just picked up a few bluegrass tracks (highly rec Dan Crary BTW), and I think there's a fair amount of New Rounder label stuff available for any who were put off by the "New" higher prices when th…

Down side of this latest Flash Player situation is that I can write Guvera off vis a vis my aged laptop here at work - it lost the capacity to upgrade on Flash many iterations ago, so unfortunately I can't log in or even view the site from it any lo…

Just as Craig is I'm using Firefox on a Mac with Snow Leopard but for some reason Guvera stopped working for me two days ago, and that includes an album I had downloaded tracks from the day before that. I dunno.

Heard from CS - (Quote) So I think I'll just bank the credits for a few days and see how it shakes out.
Maybe I'll go listen to that old chestnut, The Site Redesign Blues. Everyone knows the words, right? -
Lost another 2 downloads this morning, one on Firefox - same lack of response as yesterday, and one on Safari where it only downloaded a 4KB nametag in essence, no MP3 file. Getting annoying.
-
The 5 missing credits are back, CS got back to me, but I'm just going to wait 'til tomorrow, and try again. Nite all.
-
Now the 5 downloads I had not tried to use this morning have disappeared - curiously it doesn't say 0 Downloads, it just says Downloads. I think there are problems afoot there today. e-mail to support@guvera unanswered so far.
-
ALERT - Nothing is downloading successfully for me at the moment - absolutely nothing happens, not even failure, or problem. So watch out.

@GP - I would heartily rec the Holmes Brothers gospel album Speaking In Tongues which I just got from Guvera this weekend - gospel tunes by a rocking good blues outfit.

Courtesy of Guvera - loving this -

Don't know Ellis, don't have Wicked Grin - sounds interesting - and I'd take those Living Chicago tracks by Pinetop, and the After Hours (With A Little Help From My Friends) album.

Here are some albums I picked up in June 2009 before the album price conversion or The SONY Drop if you prefer - most have at least some long tracks:
Ginger Baker - African Force
Art Blakey - Jazz In Paris
Lionel Hampton - Jazz In … -
@BT - Alligator for my own tastes does tend to be a little "slick" as you say, a little too processed and predictable especially in more recent product, however....there are some very…

I'm working my way through the Art Tatum Group Masterpieces series - nice.

Greg, scan the early pages of the Guvera thread for tips, because some of us were prowling around back then looking to fill in tracks that were album only at eMu that we could pick up at Guvera. The pace picks up around pages 4 & 5 during the p…

@Greg, do it, man, do it. I blew several Best Buy crack cards worth on precisely that, 50's/60's jazz albums with low track numbers and long tracks, before eMu went to album pricin…

Happy Birthday, and many more - you too, Greg - because we're going to need them if we are to have any hope of listening to all this music. Rock and roll!

Interesting endeavor I read about that is linked to Kickstarter - The 78 Project - wherein these guys are making recordings (and a documentary) the olde-fashioned way - direct to acetate disc, an…

I'll fess up, I don't even know how many New Orleans comps I have, so I probably have most of the songs on here but it's still looking good - in Post your inside tips and mispriced box sets right here Comment by BigD-Bluez October 2012
