@Germanprof - Kudos for wading through the morass of tripe. I don't do it very often and they have redesigned away features on the site that used to make it more hunter-frien…

Emmylou Harris and the Nash Ramblers - Live At The Ryman.
What is new and different is that I am listening to it streaming. Got a 99 cents a month trial offer from Amazon for music Unlimited, so I've crossed the divide. A… -
Christmas songs, lots and lots of Christmas songs. Made the foraging trip into the external hard drive to retrieve a bunch of Holiday genre albums of various types which during the rest of the year get banished from iTunes on the desktop to make ro…

I had been thinking about that too. Bands/Artists I discovered on eMu - Dengue Fever. Dar Williams (although I did hear her cover of Comfortably Numb on the Cover Me podcast). Both of whom I still listen to regularly.
Really frazzled at … -

@greg - Oh, man, the Wanderer. Hadn't thought of him in years. Those were entertaining times indeed. Almost a month since I quit with months of hold prior and I'm not missing th…

Finished the latest Luther mini-season. Wow.

Well, it's over. 14 years and done. I had already made up my mind but when I tried to reactivate so I could get my last 2 songs I got a real runaround of bad links and non-existing pages so I just sent them an e-mail I'm done with them. What a bu…

@Katrina - you're welcome. I also found Amazon Prime video has Jeff Beck Live at Ronnie Scott's, one of my favorites, and Live In Tokyo (more recent) which I have not seen yet.<…

@Brighternow - I don't know but that message sounds an awful lot like somebody blowing smoke up somebody's orifice. Not auspicious.

Jeff Beck fans - if you get the chance see Jeff Beck - Still On The Run. It's on Showtime right now. Really good documentary from the Yardbird days to the present and all his phases. Good interviews, great clips - only problem is you'll wa…

@Germanprof - It has been just over two weeks without eMu now and if there is one good thing their recent depopulation of offerings has done it is that I have barely noticed …

Documentaries (mostly on Amazon Prime) are a big thing for us lately, most are history or music themed and in the latter I would highly recommend "Blood, Frets and Tears" on guitar and guitar players, mostly rockers. Lots of tidbits to be had, incl…

Well, there you have it - went on 90 day hold before my refresh. First in 14 years of membership. They essentially have next to nothing I want that I don't already have, and I fully expect the situation to remain that way. Cancellation next stop …

Rest in peace, Dick Dale. I got to see him on his "comeback" tour in 1993 and it was thrilling. The KIng of Surf Guitar has passed, I do not know that we will see his like again. And he once had a lion.... in RIP Comment by BigD-Bluez March 2019

Also on the Acrobat label is this 6 disc monster - how much I need this I don't know but it's deep and as I journey into oldfartitude I find archival collections more appealing. Not to mention that at 1/2 price it works out to about 2 1/2 cents per …

Dang. Here I was all ready to bail but I bought a small booster for this one … -
Hell's bells, half the albums in my measly remaining SFL, some of which were available YESTERDAY, are gone. All 4 albums I added last week are gone. Before my refresh I plan to be gone too.
-
Well, I've cleaned out the SFLs mostly and I'm down to 26 cents. I have two weeks to review whether I've downloaded everything successfully that I've purchased and then I think I'm done. 14 years and a lot of GBs later it doesn't seem they are goi…

Picked up this Ernest Ranglin album today - make sure you get the $3.99 version not the $6.99 iteration.

Was just thinking of this thread yesterday, so game on. Anyone who enjoyed The Night Manager with Tom Hiddleston might also like a new show from the same folks - The Little Drummer Girl, based on the John Le Carre novel (he is one of the executive …

My new favorite brew is Victory brand Golden Monkey, a Belgian style tripel, 9.5% but still rather tasty, and the Mrs. likes it too. Nice body, not as bitter as the high % IPAs. in What are you drinking right now? Comment by BigD-Bluez November 2018

Just found an iteration of Beethoven's 9 symphonies by Von Karajan for $3.99 just in case you didn't have them. Never encountered the G.O.P. label before - no I don't think it stands for Grand Old Party....

@bremble - I also have that 5 Royales CD set and highly rec, it is a steal at $6.49. I have to stop myself. There's a number of those Acrobat sets I have bought, and just got t…

@greg- too bad on that. The only thing about Isle Of Wight for me has always been the kind of depressing Jimi Hendrix set - huge Jimi fan but it was not his finest hour and he jus…

This has turned out to be one of my eMu purchases that I've listened to as many times over the many years as any I can think of - for a five piece band playing live they have a huge sound and they were really hanging it out over the edge that day.@peterfrederics I don't know how you feel about those little plastic discs but personally I think I'm going to have to go back to taking a chance on used or Other Seller…This blues comp seems good, the samples I listened to seem like originals, even though the label looks like there is a lot of shady albums on it. Some usual suspects but some others too less well known. Enough to buy. $3.99
in Bargains on the new eMusic Comment by BigD-Bluez October 2018That's a drag about J & R Adventures - I still got his next to last album there, but not the week it was released. Anyhow you Game Of Thrones fans - did you know Ilan Payne, the mute executioner, had a band??? I went "I know this face". …Is this classical label, Archipel-Walhall, a return also? I could swear there was a Furtwangler release, that Don Giovanni, that was in my classical SFL that had been one of the Unavailable but is now back. Old stuff but some well known conductors…
