i'm just glad we beat the knicks.
damn the knicks. -
with its injury issues, round two is the end-of-the-road for the bulls.
very curious to see if rose comes back full-strength. acl tears are not injuries you're guaranteed to return from "good as new." -
pitchfork prefers the decemberists / they make me want to slit my wrists / so goodbye decemberists, i bid you adieu / i'd rather listen to adrian belew

btw, appropos of nothing except that we've discussed it before, but the injury bug that's happened to the bulls is unbelievable. i figured noah plus the supporting cast would beat the 76ers, but then noah gets hurt. still think they'll beat philly…

i ask this question every damn day. -
i just wanna say, if tom f---g waits shows up on my "recommended for you" list again, i will not be able to contain myself.
i do not want a record by waits / his voice is rough, it always grates / it's sad i'm so consumed with hates / fo… -
Does this ban extend to people who call other people "cats," and say "hep"?
Seems sensible. Hardcore punk is okay in Toronto, BTW. -
Toronto is the coolest.

okay, confession time: i'm not mailman.
i know, i know. sorry for the deception. -
okay, so i have a moment. if a new artist released standing at the sky's edge, i suppose i'd see an argument that it was too backward-looking, just solid songcraft and not innovative, and so on. but taken in the context of richard hawley's r…

Actually, given your jazz interests, you may like his earlier albums even more.
I'm out of the office now, but I'll elaborate later. -

i'm thinking of changing my "mailman" screen name to "the postman," so i can end every comment with, "the postman always complains twice." -

sort of. both the gentle-ironist and the relentless-crank in me get their say. -
i'm wonderboymusic, and mailman.

i actually dig some of this album, and to say i'm worn-out and bored with all things beatles-related is an understatement.
if i never, ever hear imagine again, i'll be just fine. but give me some of th… -
That Soft Moon record slays.

I loved Husker back on the day, but I have to say I almost never have a desire to hear them nowadays, and . . . I dunno, maybe not excited to hear them mentioned as an influence on a new band? Somewhat ashamed to say that.
Now, I also re… -
so wait, is your blog now affiliated with the guardian UK? if so, that's fantastic. sorry, i've been so swept up in my own nonsense for so long that i haven't been able to focus on the outside world very much.

great choice. mostly taste is subjective, but this is the greatest album ever made -- proven by science.
also omgyeah, spotify's great for general-purpose searches and sampling. but emusic's a better resource for obscure stuff.(Quote)
i found this disc from a small article in waxpoetics (great music magazine, btw). i'll check out the rest. i love these "comeback" stories. bobby womack is another one; his new album comes out on XL this year.guilty confession: i like lana del rey's lynch-ian vibe, if not always her songs. christopher winegarden (of spin) wrote a long piece recently about the steady -- and growing -- population of singers who trade in that david-lynch eerie vibe. i'm a…well, amy winehouse was pretty, before drugs ruined her. but that cover isn't designed to be hot. not really sure what that cover's designed to do. amy winehouse had some great albums, but not great album covers.what a cool album. what a sexy cover.
Sorry. I'll shut-up now.BTW, not to turn this too much into an NBA playoffs thread, but SVG must be a genius to keep the dwight-less magic close against a pretty gritty -- and deservedly favored -- pacers team. that hibbert has 9 blocks so far. 9!
well, celtics -- bulls will be a battle, even with rose out. i wouldn't be surprised if chicago gets to the ECF. they won't advance to the finals, tho, unless something crazy happens and either the nyk or indiana eliminate miami (not happening).
yeah. sometimes the no-contact injuries are the worst. this compacted schedule is taking a terrible toll on players. when the heat held that huge margin early in the forth, i was screaming for spo to get wade out of the game, to avoid just that ty…(Quote)
