iTunes is driving me nuts. I have an iPhone 6 with 128 GB and I'm trying to change out the music, swapping a few large playlists (deleting one and adding two). I have tried four times. First time it seemed like it worked but this morning on the way …

Sunday night I saw the Chick Corea Elektric Band with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones at Wolf Trap in Northern Virginia. Beautiful night for an outdoor show and both bands were incredible. A friend of mine told me afterwards that I've used up my allot…

Haven't updated this thread in a while. Here's what I've seen lately.
Redd Kross (May 2, Black Cat) - so much fun. I've loved them for years but never seen them before. It's obvious that they love rock n roll as much as the fans do, and t… -
Those Robyn Hitchcock boxes are a great deal. I already have both of them, but well worth your time and money if you're at all interested.

The Omnibus is a must-get. It was 6.99 then went up to over $40 on the old site. But all the Numero Group boxes are great. The Scientists box is 7.99.

Also, the two-disc reissue of Sugar's File Under: Easy Listening is $6.99 (was $13.98 on the old site)

Supercluster, The Big Dipper Anthology. This was on my SFL at the old site, 49 tracks from Merge Records, and I think it was like $18.49. Just checked it at the new site, $4.49.

@greg It appears some of the old stuff has been re-ripped at 320 CBR, but not all. One example, Wishbone by Jackie Mittoo, I re-downloaded but it's the same low bit rate as what I h…

Allan Holdsworth. Didn't realize he was 70, but that's still too young. RIP.

Not a misprice, but a good deal nonetheless and another winner from Numero Group. Action Painting, a two-CD set by The Creation, 46 tracks, $13.98 ($6.99 if you take advantage of the current 2-for-1 booster sale).
That's cool, Doofy, I'm sure you will enjoy it. And get there early - the opening act, Saul Zonana, is worth checking out.
Adrian Belew Power Trio last night in Vienna, Virginia. This was the first show of the tour, and there were a few hiccups but the musicianship was off the charts. Julie Slick on bass, Tobias Ralph on drums, and the incredible Adrian Belew (fresh off…Yes, I'm participating in the beta. Seems like a decent selection of stuff available to stream, but it's definitely a step away from ownership, because the "free" albums you select are only available for listening through the app for the duration of…John Wetton. Extraordinary bass player and singer. Played with King Crimson, Roxy Music and Asia, among many others. RIP.
in RIP Comment by Muggsy January 2017Butch Trucks, longtime drummer with the Allman Brothers and uncle of Derek Trucks.
http://music.blog.ajc.com/2017/01/25/al…@BigD-Bluez thanks for the UFO tip. I had grabbed two of the Schenker discs at Guvera, but nice to get the whole thing.
Too many obvious jokes.
Tommy Keene collection, 2 discs, 41 tracks, $6.49. I already have a bunch of Tommy Keene stuff, but if you don't, jump on this one.
in Post your inside tips and mispriced box sets right here Comment by Muggsy November 2016The great Victor Bailey. Massively talented bass player and by all accounts an extraordinarily nice guy. How good was he? When Jaco Pastorius left Weather Report, Vic got the gig.
in RIP Comment by Muggsy November 2016That Eccentric Soul: Omnibus set is seriously awesome. Anybody who missed out on getting it cheap at eMusic should jump on it at 7Digital. Good catch @Doofy.
Saw Squeeze and the English Beat on Tuesday at the 9:30 Club, fun show. English Beat at this point is Dave Wakeling and a rotating cast of characters, but the songs hold up and they know how to play them. Squeeze was excellent. Glenn Tilbrook is a m…Death at the Black Cat on Saturday night. If you haven't seen the documentary, A Band Called Death, it's excellent and well worth watching. One of the band's singles from the mid-70s will be on permanent display at the new African American History M…Lush last night at the 9:30 Club. Wow. A friend from out of town who's a huge Lush fan got the tickets. I was aware of them back in the day but never really got into the shoegaze stuff. Turned out I owned one Lush album, Split, which was an Amie Str…I don't believe there are any extra charges for currency conversion. I can't remember the specifics, but I'm pretty cure I've purchased music priced in GBP on Bandcamp without any such issues.
Another winner from the Numero Group. Four discs, 80 songs, 269 minutes, $6.99. Raucous Australian post-punk from the Scientists.
http://www.emus…X is a force of nature. Exene gets MS, they keep going. Billy gets cancer, they keep going. And they continue to wipe the floor with most bands half their age. Exene and John still sound great together, John and DJ are an all-time great rhythm sect…ZZ Top is doing a special show at the 9:30 Club on 8/24, just announced yesterday. They did the same thing a few years ago and I went and it was awesome, but I'm gonna be out of town this time. Seeing a band that plays arenas in a (relatively) small…X is playing at the State Theatre in Falls Church, VA, which is actually a good bit smaller than the 9:30 Club. I've seen them at the 9:30 a couple of times, as well as at the Birchmere in Alexandria and the Black Cat. But you should definitely make…Paul McCartney last night at the Verizon Center in DC. The most expensive concert tickets I've ever bought. I hate arena shows but made an exception for McCartney, who I'd never seen. He was amazing. Played for almost three hours without a break, an…
