Another twang-centric one from a country mailing list I'm on. I personally am a bit surprised the Buddy and Julie figured so highly in a lot of twang lists, I mean Buddy and Julie are sublime doing anything but still I thought this effort was pret…

I get some use out of Amie St, enough to buy credit when its discounted (or even not) and keep it stashed there for when I need it -- even if it takes me a few months to get through $25. eMusic has a lot of N/A in Your Region too but it bothers m…

Alternatively, unless you really care about metadata there's no benefit to auto over manual. I'm ambivalent about it, last.fm is cool but I'm not losing sleep if people think I've listened to "Ode to Billy Joe" 20 instead of 35 times.

So now I manually managing but really, what a pain in the neck. Wanted just to add the current audiobook I'm listening to, not all of them, which involves making a special smart playlist for just that one book, then synching that playlist. Somewha…

Well, I could never think of one reason why you would want to autmatically manage your ipod. But that idea was settled on years ago when I got my first iPod and I haven't revisited the issue so maybe I'm missing something. I want to decide what go…

Can I scrobble from an iPod that is manually managed?
Yes. However, automatic syncing is still recommended.
Manually managed iPods require you to manually transfer tracks to your iPod using iTunes. You can only scrobble manual iPod… -
I manually manage my iPod (ackshully iPhone) which makes scrobbling my listens on last.fm more complex. It is supposed to do it though, but doesn't. When I connect the phone it pops up with a list of my "iPod listens" which is actually just what I …

I have 1 in the eMu list (the Ghana comp) and a big ole zero from Pitchfork. I seem to have completely missed the eMu members voting this year. Oh well.

Well look here's the thing. There is no way on Bob's green earth that they can get rid of Sal. No way. So Horrid Mr Lucky Strike, Jr has to go. in Anyone here watch Mad Men? Comment by NankerP November 2009

And your Australian friends -- I was nervous visiting eMusers until I'd caught up on Mad Men out of fear I'd accidentally see a spoiler ...
But seen the finale now and yes, very satisfying! -

Off topic of the original point, but in the end I decided not to quit entirely because I knew I could not come back, as they blocked access from Australia entirely for new subscribers. The finality of that really focusses the mind.

A couple of old Tom Russell studio albums dropped as part of the huge Rounder Records add today -- confusingly listed under "Tom Russell", "The Tom Russell Band" and "Tom Russell Band". I used to have them all on CD back in the day but my whole co…

I don't get results any different from a regular google search. No big red play button. I assume that is geographical restrictions again. So whatever.
Wake me when that bullshit is over. -
It's the best album of the year, but then I am a fully paid up Bob Obsessive.
I reckon its hilarious -- in both a good and bad way and I forsee myself spinning it a lot this December. In fact, I've already started. -

Thanks hoosfoos. I do indeed adore Tom Russell, he's one of my favourites (and I have a low level campaign of spamming his Facebook page and Twtter account with desperate please for him to tour Australia, which he has never done.) I've had the new…

@ dubdance yes, defintely worth getting if you like the Afro-Funk thing. Benin's mix of traditional African and funk/rock hits the sweet spot for me. The first song Dadje Von O Von Non should pull you right in, I reckon.

** Herbie Mann - title track from Push Push (just so I can get that wonderful cover on my iTunes)**
