If you have something like firebug installed, you can see if it's sending anything off to the server and what the server responds with, that might provide some insight.

Yeah, I renamed it, now it works. You can probably rename it yourself to whatever you want it to be (the gear at the very top of the page does it.) If not, any admin can do it for you.

The editor doesn't work that well on my Nexus 7 either, however I switched to 'source view' (the right-most button) and that let me type things in directly.

Oh, and the reason that some people's usernames are showing doubled up I think is because they have a link to an image as their avatar, but that avatar no longer exists. The forum now permits uploading your own, which is probably preferable.
