I'm pretty sure it's to do with the (IMO silly) way vanilla handles this. If you sign up, you become a "Noob", if you confirm your email, then you become an applicant. This ends up meaning that people who haven't confirmed their email have more perm…

Well that seemed uneventful. Release details here for the curious: http://vanillaforums.org/discussion/30123/vanilla-2-1-11-released-security-p…

About to do a security update in the next some minutes. Hopefully you won't notice anything.

(Quote) I'd also suggest "Housebound", a New Zealand horror comedy that I accidentally discovered recently.

Nothing should have changed, problematic 4G connection perhaps?
My 4G here runs faster than my cable internet does anyway...
I really need to dig up some time to do some backend poking on this site again.

Yeah, I'm not sure how best to resolve it. I did a bit of tuning to settings but it made bugger all difference. Maybe this weekend I'll have to do some research.
We could lock down the noob users to a category, that would possibly be enou… -
Good to hear an actual local band near the end there

@Brighternow, that is the best thing I have seen/heard in a while.

Need to find a better rich text editor, i think.

Your paste somehow got a lot of extra formatting markup in it that caused weirdness. It'll probably fix itself in the end. Appropriate for a WTF thread though.

I doubt that IP blacklists are likely to get us very far, they'll be using infected machines most likely. I'd really like to block on that application text string that's always there though. I may have a look into that.

You should have a look in the spam section and see the amount that you're not having to clear out

@thom, if you email me an SSH key, I'll make you an account with relevant group permissions and we can take it from there. I'll also make you administrator here as it makes no sense…

(Quote) Greek isn't necessarily ancient. Though, I did study Latin for 3.5 years in school. I think I've forgotten at least 3.49 years worth of it.
I'm not aware of anything that'll let you move your data from one to the other (not to say it doesn't exist, just that I don't know of it.) I have my data file exported from last.fm, so if I get the chance maybe I'll have a look into doing that, but…The API for libre.fm is identical to last.fm, it's quite easy for someone to modify the player or the plugin to convert one into the other.
http://bugs.foocorp…@cafreema all the stuff I use (nuvola, rhythmbox, mostly) have it built in right beside the last.fm options. You might need to dig up a plugin for whatever it is you use.
@xtrev changed the DNS, so things should be a little smoother and quicker around these parts now, especially if you're somewhere near civilisation and not in a remote part of the w…I have a few unsubstantiated theories on what causes this:
* someone editing a comment
* someone adding a comment and then deleting it
* a spammer (or real person, potentially) creating an account and leaving a comment, which will end…I just made some changes to the configuration that makes things slightly more sensible. You probably won't notice anything (except that extra 'emusers.org' bit is gone from the path), but if you do, let me know. Most likely it'll be internal links t…No worries
That seemed to be happy, sing out if you notice anything newly weird.

But, right now:

Google Music was being annoying so I went back to my on-disk music and rediscovered this. CC-BY-NC-SA, free download.
So, the -nocookie thing is something that youtube offers, but it seems to have stopped working right in firefox:

(Quote) Yeah, what I've done is add the stopforumspam plugin that checks their email addresses and such, but not the one that allows us to report (yet.) This means that if they've been seen and reported as spammers before by other forums, they'll …That's been on TV here. I ought to get my hands on it. Most likely, I'll wait for it to be on netflix as I'm also binge watching Farscape and the original Star Trek (to be followed by the good ones of the other serieses) at the moment.
