"Sherry" - that's my favorite so far, Jonah! Nice work.

Saw the National last night at Merriweather Post Pavilion (DC area). Great show, still on my mind, have that "post-concert glow" going. I like using setlist.fm (where geeky fans upload show setlists very quickly) to create a playlist to recreate a s…

(Quote) In four sentences I mangled four known names in patented jonahpwll fashion. I think you're right.

(Quote) jonahpwll, you are the master. I almost cannot help taking you literally, and yet... yet... it cannot be true!

NannaParker, I'm with you. I have a hard time swallowing such relentless naming confusion. JohnWhipoorwill, if it comes naturally, still, it's a rare, rare "talent". I have to agree with Cafemama that your rejection of the theme brings your musical …

256 is probably CBR (due to its round power-of-2 number) - a 212-average VBR may easily be equivalent (or even better) in sound quality (depends on the source material) - one simply cannot fairly compare CBR and VBR files by number alone.

Interesting in the above plot is the implication of how hip "youngsters" are these days. The availability of a wide spectrum of music at one's fingertips introduces lots of music at much younger ages than it used to. From in Cool lastfm badges-charts-graphs Comment by kargatron June 2013

Also in playground is the fun gender/age plot. Picking some users here at random:

Thx, gentlemen! 46th orbit so far is clear of debris (which, ok, may be a bit boring, but I am old and decrepit, so can't handle too much debris).

Oh man, The National's new one snuck up on me. Psyched!

Jonah, you mml with your obvious mangling of names like "Langshire" and "Tyriol". Kudos.
Daenerys's storyline at the end of s2 was indeed almost insufferable, but you'll be relieved to know it's much, much improved in s3. -

Kjreilly - fantastic treasury of concert videos of contemporary avant-garde jazz and improvisation performances in NYC. Take, for example, fresh uploads from in The greatest YouTube clip you'll see this week. Comment by kargatron May 2013

2 complaints about GoT s3 atm:
- Tyrion is sorely underserved by his current subplot, positively mundane
- (MILD SPOILER) ................... Theon's torture stuff is just bleak, oppressive, and seemingly pointlessly cruel, so much… -
The other cool thing about the GoT intro is that it changes, depending on the locations appearing in the episode. At least, that was the case last season - I haven't paid attention this season to see if there've been any changes, but perhaps every l…

The music is great (though for stuff like this, doesn't every just go to their favorite streaming service and just check it out themselves?
@choice, yeah, you should be more than satisfied if you go for The Real McCoy, Extensions, Sahara, and Enlightenment.Sunn O))) (like, ALL OF IT)I don't take much from that comparison - Guvera is 256 CBR (bah, waste of space imo - an equivalent-size VBR would be higher quality) - the eMusic version might well be an equivalent-quality LAME vbr with no inherently signficant audio difference.Yes, last.fm is a much more efficient way to access the kind of information found for instance in this thread, assuming you listen a lot digitally. I'm still on the annual plan ($17/mo credit), with a built-in ~30+% discount, so it remains a good-priced option. A $7-listed album is under 5 bucks real money.confused: (Quote)
confused, what's your last.fm handle?
And bn, BT, amclark2, others, when you are going to start your last.fm accounts?
Gp, I've seen weird behavior about iTunes purchases (mostly years-old free download tracks for me) reverting their metadata, seemingly via a push from iTMS. I simply unchecked all of them, so they wouldn't pop back up in my playlists. Sorry, though,…Gp, I actually use Oval's "Salajingle" as my ringtone. I like it especially because it crescendos from silence, so has the effect of an initial vibrate-only, then gets louder.
Nice choice, Doofy.last-played is an obvious constraint from my playlists that you didn't mention, Gp.Am I an idiot, or is there no way to search that archive, and are the covers not actually labeled? I can't see how anyone could use that archive from that interface.
