I read most threads, and there's lots here that isn't something I would listen to more than once, but I read anyway. Once in a while I want to try something new, and by golly, there's plenty new here to try.
The thread that causes me the… -
I don't much care about the categories, but when recent stickies were added, I did think it was too many. When I go to the forum, the stickies take up the entire screen, and some of them are easily handled by searching. The search function here work…

Churn. Wouldn't that be the constant turnover in subscribers? Quit, get some freebies, quit, get more freebies . . .

There will always be the "I am so much better than you" post, and I suspect he gets great pleasure out of seeing others insult him or try to stop him because it feeds his ego. He really does think he's better than anyone else over there. I'm thinkin…

One post was humorous. Several is not funny. Makes it hard to read what I want to read. I just skip over Wandy's posts, but it's damned hard to get by these.

Not a big pro football fan here, but I do watch the Super Bowl. I was glad that Aaron Rodgers finally got his day after all the Favre fuss. Big Ben turns me off, too.

That's a good one!
After posting, I picked up the Mark Twain autobiography again, and the next page was "Comment on Tautology and Grammar."

I know you are, but what am I!
Yeah, I did grin at your analogy. -
Germanprof, poor use of commas certainly changes the meaning. I typed my own dissertation, and I referred back to the publication manual many times. I also typed several dissertations for friends (that's how I paid off the credit card purchase of my…

(Quote) Oh, I hope not! There always seems to be something good in those posts.

The pedantic one here -- although the rules say period inside the quotation marks, I now do what looks right. Sometimes the rule results in a sentence that looks all wrong. Since I am no longer graded on the rules (at least by people who count), I j…

Nereffid has always been good for such direct hits.
From Wandy, same thread: (Quote) I was just ready to submit my response -- then decided to stay out of it. -
Reminds me of one of my favorite Frasier episodes - a fencing instructor speaks German, the housekeeper translates to Spanish and Frasier translates into English for Niles and vice versa. Of course, the translation has inaccuracies, and the fun begi…

Black history month started here, not with a celebration of black history, but with more discussion of the horrific dropout rate of black (or African-American, if you prefer) males in our public school system. Fifty percent. That is horrible! A loca…

ScissorMan, are you one of the writers in brittleblood's ongoing novellas? If not, I would encourage you to consider adding to the stories.

Thanks, Nereffid. Time to switch from Jonah's recs to your list. I see a couple I already have. What fun to go exploring again.
-
Fun over there? I have forgotten what that was. For the first time in years, I let some dough go because I forgot to spend some time deciding what to download. That wasn't a problem until recently. I don't know why I keep hanging on. Friends and fam…

When eMu was bargain basement, I could deal with less than ideal customer service. They are no longer bargain basement. Discount, maybe, but I do expect more when I pay more.

LOL, thom! I generally rotate through people re recs. I add appealing recs to my SFL, and they seem to get downloaded by recommender. I don't have a big monthly allotment, so it takes some time to rotate through. It's just Jonah's turn right now.

RealUsersFAQ put together by bklynd who was a regular on the board back in the day. How many of you remember his You Tube goodbye? Wasn't it 68 that he bl…

To add to frog's list, when did "a lot" become "alot?"

There are no uninvited digressions here when discussing music (or telling stories, or posting lyrics, or . . .)

I had put this on my SFL when it was first mentioned. Downloaded it Monday, but have been so busy I haven't had time to listen. I will make time today!

I'm using 4.1.2 -- no problems.

Except for groceries and prescriptions, my buying is mostly online, too. However. . . even Amazon will show me items from my wish list or items others have bought. No, I'm not trapped like with a B & M clerk, but they still te… -
Frankiepop? Such a loser. I don't remember ever seeing a post that wasn't a slam at someone or something. I see frankiepop and I generally skip it. He adds no substance to the boards. At least Wandy gives good tips here and there.

Given that there hasn't been another post, there's little doubt that it's spam. There are several Mods - the post can be sent into the ether.

After days and days and days of below freezing, it warmed to the 40s yesterday and we were at a positively balmy 60 something today. No long sleeves when stepping outside to enjoy a bit of sunshine.

LOL! You just barely beat me to it. Yours wasn't here when I started mine.

One of the most uplifting prayers I have ever come across.
