@djh I think I've mentioned my love for this album growing up - especially that phased drum solo on the last cut. I don't think that I consciously made a connection with Santana back…

Don't feel like you can't talk about this. These systems are very helpful, but like many things in life, the people whose lives are devoted to analysis will get the most gratification while those who are slaves to their emotions will find reason aft…

These synergetic extrapolative systems are occasionally very iffy when it comes to their output. This makes them very much like humans. It's similar when it comes to asking questions about music and why, with any discourse, you have human faculties …

I'm not sure if it was mentioned here, but Joe Byrd just passed away last month. I've been revisiting his work.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Lovely, lovely, lovely ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^There's this First Word vid of them going thru John Peel's collection.A bit surprised by the things I notice in this that I have - some titles they don't mention,
but am surprised to see. Thanks for the heads-up on those First World titles.
Yes, I played the Amanda Whiting Xmas one quite a bit last year.
I'll check out the others.@peterfrederics Oh, good! There were actually two bands named Krautwerk - and of course there's Kraftwerk too. I've always loved Silver Cloud - it's q…Have always enjoyed Lindisfarne. Ended the show two weeks ago with "Furniture" from them. Surprised there were no comments here about last week's show considering its progish leanings. Oh well, people are busy.Loved that Gypsy album growing up. Thought that the phased drum solo on, "Tomorrow is the Last to be Heard" was the coolest thing. I was 11.For Random Radio, I use a list of "Inspirations" that I subject to chance operations.
For the Nov. 19th show, emusers was used as the stimulus - and, in this case,
I just worked backwards from this, "What Are You Listening To..." thread a…Thanks for the intro to the Continuum.
I got all 4 of the releases.
He might be having a heart attack now.Something I've run into often these days is the newsletter writer who's often begging for more subscribers (at a cost) who also informs me of all of these festivals he travels to in other countries. Really? I'm sure that there are all kinds of music…YES terday?
Love that Chico album! Often on my turntable back in the late 70s. Beginning in '80, I started working for a distributor that carried India Navigation titles. It was my job to sell that label, so I'd get free promos to build my collection. Wonderful…New recording that features 27 newly discovered piano pieces of Erik Satie presented for the first time.

I like the pared down look instead of the fake L.A. beautiful people of a decade ago. Good to hear that it was closer to the Berlin sound. Yes, the recent releases had me hoping for this. Thanks for the update!I'd be interested in hearing how they sound these days. My mood about them has elevated some in the past 10 years because the new group is a lot less Hollyweird and airbrushed and a lot closer to the 70s era than I ever expected. I really thought th…I stay far away from anything that Froese had re-mastered and, frankly, changed. It's an attitude of extensively (almost unrecognizably) re-writing the past that makes it so egregiously disrespectful to those who grew up loving this work. If …Thanks guys for the Ayler sale heads-up!
Just got in under the wire (it was 9PM Dallas time and it was still available).(Quote) Kraftwerk is a part of my DNA after sooooo many years (since '71) and soooo many concerts (since '75) - Chicago being two of those concerts ('75 & '81). Kept seeing them when I could up to the pandemic. The series of multiple nigh…Last year, it was terrible for the eagles, but this year it's looking grea…
