Stupid new job with their stupid web filtering. I was able to dominate these boards back when I was in charge of IT...

@jonahpwll - Great writing there. Sometimes I wonder if I can really tolerate reading about music, but when it's one like that I certainly can.
I have a strange rel… -
I came back for this?!?! The second thread I read dares to disparage the name of our holy hipster savior, Jeff Mangum?!?!
I'm only partially joking. I was fortunate enough to have a friend pick up tickets to one of his upcoming shows and… -

Subscribing let's you listen to your own collection and create your own playlists or something like that. At one point it also let you stream a lot of albums, but I think that deal fell through. Essentially it made it more like a cross between Pando…

@SM - I somewhat hesitantly agree. I'm not sure how much of it is due to significantly less exposure this year due to time constraints and the lack of Amie, but it still seems like th…

Hypebot is out, but they link to a Chevy Facebook page which I used to get an account immediately.

@Craig - That was one of my top picks for 2008. One of my first great freebies on Amie. Just popped it back on when I saw it was the the daily deal - so damn catchy.

If it's 20 hours/month free, I would absolutely ditch MOG. They've got a nice service, but I think I would easily get by with 20 hours to check out albums I don't own. Half of my MOG use is stuff I do own but can currently access it through them eas…

Thanks elwood. I'm already working out how to properly classify people I know. A nice change of pace from classifying my music collection.

I'm looking for one!

It is most definitely Google Music BETA. Unlike other Google services, there seems to be some major issues so far. Sadly everybody widely releases their betas now which means people don't understand that the software is still in a buggy state…

Much to my surprise, they offered me a free month after cancelling my one-off account. Now the trick is whether or not I get a rejoin offer after that. I might be tempted to stick around another month after that and then see if they'll give me anoth…

@craig - That was my first choice. But I was thinking I might grab something like Death Cab instead because I think W H O K I L L is worth 5 bucks (only held off on it because I de…

@jUj - Almost definitely. My main complaint so far is that the upload process is pretty long and resource intensive. I really wish Google had bought Lala. If you double-click on the …

I can't believe I forgot Cut/Copy. 5 listens according to foobar2000, but it was in my car stereo for about a month straight.

I've only watched snippets. The advertising campaign really drove me away. I liked the guy that looked like an extra from Lord of the Rings. There's definitely talent there, although I don't think I've caught Vicci at all (I didn't realize how many …

Iron & Wine's Kiss Each Other Clean is still my clear cut favorite with TV on the Radio coming in pretty close. Wye Oak, The Decemberists, James Blake, DeVotchka, Explosions in the Sky, Fleet Foxes and Destroyer are all also in contention…

I use it, unfortunately my account will simply show that I haven't picked up any books in the past year or so. I used to be a rather voracious reader, but it's been hard for me to get back into the swing of things with so many distractions.

And I've never seen you guys in the same place at the same time... hmmm...

I actually wish more reality shows (alright, this is the only one I really watch) would not do cuts the first week, because it really sucks seeing someone go home before they really even get a chance. In this case I'm really happy they didn't send a…

I would never call anyone a fake fan, but I highly recommend diving into his lo-fi back catalog. I love his newer material, too (The Sunset Tree is phenomenal) but All Hail West Texas is one of my favorite albums of all time.
