Cat Power - Satisfaction
Haunting is the key word. The key element is that she never actually sings the chorus. The "Baby, baby, baby come back" part still gives me chills. -
That's awesome - the mix and the cover.

Now I'm really intrigued by Autre Ne Veut - just saw a review the other day and it grabbed my attention and then see it on your list. Did you get Caribou's album? For some reason (even before they toured together) I really linked him to Four Tet. Ju…

This is more like it. Are there any specific album recs for Brown? I honestly don't have any. Figure I should at least get the 20 greatest hits, but might skip/supplement if a couple album are classics.

Heh, while I'm not necessarily a fan of all the forum bells and whistles that bog down other sites, general use of avatars just makes conversations a lot easier to follow. At least for me.
I'm also in favor of having our post count displ… -

@denver - Some of their reviews get way too pretentious. I tend to skip them unless they rate it at least a 4 out of 5 (they give out way too many 3s). But I love how they deliver…

So this Tiny Desk Concert came upon my feed reader and I was absolutely fascinated by the sound. The name sounded familiar and after a quick search …

Takes me back to the good ol' days when Wanderer was regularly complaining about all of the labels that kept leaving (that post is the first time he ever named a single one) and indicated that all of the new labels that had come in didn't count beca…

(Quote) I believe it will. Obviously these current prices are working for some/plenty of people. But if the music industry is not happy with their current returns, they are screwed. I don't see anyway they can possibly expand their profits with t…

@kenny - damn, didn't realize Miike Snow was there. "Animal" was one of my favorite tracks last year. Guess that's up next after I finish Skylarking...

I'll probably limit my ECM d/ls for now. Personally I am of the "probably blown out of proportion" mentality, but just wanted to verify that no one was noticing major issues on some of these.

For the record, I don't think amclark2 should get credit for posting the same thing here and in the Bandcamp Goodies thread. Is there anyway we can make sure his post count only goes up by one when he does that? :P

Alright, I got a free month at eMordac. Any comments on the quality of these d/ls? I'm all set to at least grab Endless Days, but if the encoding is suspect in the least I'll hold off.

Awesome videos. Never saw them before. Holy carp is the Sparks appearance hysterical.
That video for "Working Girls" practically laid down the foundation (for better or worse) for so many of the the lo-fi, chillwave, indie vids the kids … -
@BT - That was their only album on Sub Pop. Everything else is available under their Ashmont label. I was thinking of picking that one up now that it's on eMordac.

Basically this confirms that it is an artificially driven market. In a similar discussion way back whenever, someone pointed out that 99 cents (or 82p for you Brits) was the market price point. The claim was that since people were willing to pay tha…

It's a problem on every site. Aside from obvious places like Amazon (Citizen Kane? More like Citizen Lame! 1 STAR FOR YOU!), DIME - one of the top live music torrent sites - always had people 1 starring new uploads for some unknown reason.
@Scissorman - Didn't know about that. Thanks for the info. I would like to start exploring the other related bands. Seeing they have material on Darla, I might just go toI think Bandcamp is really trying to take their time and completely think through any new features. Reading their blog, I see that they held off on adding a Facebook "Like" button until they realized that's where most traffic was coming from. And ev…For the record, a dud by Pernice essentially means limited replay value not that I don't like it. When Live a Little came out it was playing on my computer and car stereo for weeks. Goodbye Killer kinda slipped through the cracks for m…I wish Bandcamp would implement listener accounts that would allow us to more easily keep track of bands we like on there. Right now I'm using delicious, but it's a little awkward.(Quote) If there is, I will be re-evaluating Ariel Pink pronto...I was specifically referring to the album. The title track is pretty decent and so is the "Frost" single. But the album as a whole is very indicative of the hipster hype that will be completely forgotten about in a year. I try not to rant against pe…
