Someday someone will have to explain Amnesiac to me. I keep reading that it's the more "accessible" follow-up to Kid A. But I tried listening to it 2 or 3 times and found it dreadful.
I can go in any direction. I have some … -
Finally got around to sampling this and d/led it. Weird thing is that one of the songs must have been a freebie, but I couldn't find it anywhere. No way would I have purposely deleted it!
The Lost Take also sounded excellent, but t… -
I had decided to start with Zanes' first one, Rocket Ship Beach largely because it included "Bushel and a Peck" - a song my w…

If you don't already own Feist's Let It Die I highly recommend picking it up for 2 bucks. The Reminder is even better but this one is excellent, too. "Mushaboom" is such an awesome track plus she does a killer Bee-Gees' cover.

Looking forward to it! I actually already have the one with Lisa Loeb - took a little bit longer to catch on, but were into it now. Next up are some Dan Zanes albums!

I like that Raveonettes' album. Can't compare it to their previous ones since it was the first for me. "Last Dance" in particular is such a fantastic song. A fun album - especially if you skip the rape song...
Happy that on of Elizabeth … -
They have pages for the $4 albums now, but they are not comprehensive. It seems like many of the artists that have an album on the lists actually have most of their albu…

Wow. Seriously, thanks so much for this rec. Amazing stuff.

Since I'm about to head out for lunch and some shopping, I'll keep this brief: no, it hasn't. Both terms are heavily inclusive and only begin to have focus when used as modifiers (e.g. indie pop, alt. rock).

I've updated the title to clarify things.
Perhaps the title should be, "If you died before 1960 you probably didn't release anything new this decade". -
I'm often surprised by things that Lala is missing. Not that they are a totally comprehensive site, simply that they have some odd gaps. However, now that Apple owns them...

Thanks for the rec. I recognize the name, but never got anything of theirs before. Is Absencen a good starting place? Sounds amazing so I'm likely to d/l it regardless.

The cover for Lungs grabbed my attention when it was released. I remember liking the previews, too.

I'd complain about nothing of interest but that has more to do with already owning Dear Science. Owl City almost sounds good to me from the 30 second samples - but I think a full minute of that would be too syrupy sweet with a side order of vacuousn…

He and hid buddy just love to declare this forum "dead", don't they?
Wonder if they just take a look at the ol' Wanderer thread to gauge activity levels. -

Remember that DSL speeds also depend upon distance from the CO - so make sure you find out the speed you should get before hand. Personally I wouldn't go back to DSL unless there were no alternatives. There are just too many things that can degrade …

They do that a lot with their big sales. But I definitely noticed a few that were not specials before that I was interested in (such as in Holiday Sales Comment by thomnottom November 2009

Thanks, I remember missing the first album when they did it last year.

I'll agree that the "token" classical and jazz selections seem forced, if not completely out of place. Personally it doesn't make any sense to me to make a best of list that covers classical and "popular" music and figure jazz should probably be seg…

I'm going to spend as much time as I can until the rest of the year revisiting and checking out the albums on these lists. Not that I didn't already know it by heart, but listening to Is This It always takes me back to a really awesome time f…
