Experimedia Japan Relief
I just got an email from experimedia detailing how until the end of March they are donating all income from select releases to an emergency relief fund for Japan. Since the list of eligible CDs includes some artists that I know folk here have been following, I thought everyone should know. Unusual chance to donate to disaster relief and effectively get free CDs as a reward.

Unfortunately weve had a lot of damage at Home Normal HQ (Japan) so please bear with us over the next few days we have a huge clearing up and re-building project now for the next week at least as the shop and studio were hit pretty badly. A lot of people are organizing music compilations to try and raise money for the relief efforts. i have contributed two tracks so far (one mf and one unrecnow) which is great. now i am trying to put together a collection of my live recordings into an digital ep in order to try and do my own part. more details to come soon.
In the wake of the disaster that struck the country of Japan and the still unresolved dangers its people now face, composer and saxophonist John Zorn has organized three special benefit concerts in New York City.
Shows will be held at Columbia University's Miller Theater, the Abrons Arts Center, and the Japan Society to raise funds to directly benefit earthquake and tsunami victims. Each night will feature performances by some of the most amazing artists working in modern jazz, rock and experimental music, including Sonic Youth, Yoko Ono, Mike Patton, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, Philip Glass, Ryuichi Sakamoto,Thurston Moore, Elliott Sharp, Norah Jones, and many more.
The musicians and venues have donated their time and energy to ensure that 100% of the proceeds from each event will go directly to the Japan Society's Earthquake Relief Fund. These performances promise to be special opportunities for a great community of musicians and music lovers to come together and aid a nation in crisis.
