Yeah, they posted this on Twitter too yesterday and I couldn't resist a snark.

@eMusic eMusic’s very own CEO Adam Klein is discussing tips to help grow your business today at #Midem ow.ly/8J9Dy

ME @hawleyrose: whatever emusic does, do the opposite “RT @eMusic: eMusic’s CEO Adam Klein is discussing tips to help grow your business [link]

My friend replied @hawleyrose HA! I really hate the new @eMusic interface. It takes me 10x longer to get the info I need to buy something. #unimprovement

Me again:  @Susane @eMusic yeah still love the music there but decision makers over long time have had no clue. 3 months no personalised recs!!!!!!!!!!

(OK the exclamation marks are a bit much but it was very early morning here ...)

then @eMusicHelps tried to be helpful: @hawleyrose Thanks for the feedback. Phase one of our new personalized recommendation system will be coming in just a few weeks.

Me: @eMusicHelps I look forward to that, but won't change the fact major functionality shouldn't have suddenly gone away for 3 months

Anyway, I'm not losing sleep over this stuff anymore but I just posted not once but twice about new music on the eMu boards so I'm entitled to a whinge too.....
  • MIDEM is a marketing organization - they probably don't pay attention to things like customer satisfaction and software development problems. I also suspect that Klein and the rest of eMu's top-level management are seeking out opportunities for increased public visibility as a kind of distractionary tactic, as in "things can't be all that bad - look, I'm giving a speech at a trade show! Somebody must think we're competent."
