My brother-in-law has bought me a cd as a present three of the last four years (two for christmas, one for birthday):
CD #1: Dosh - "Wolves & Wishes": Had never heard of Dosh before, now own several albums. W&W still played regularly.
CD #2: Balmorhea - "Rivers Arms": Had literally just discovered them a week earlier on emusic, hadn't yet downloaded anything. I now own just about everything they've done.
CD #3: Eluvium - "Copia": Have known about Eluvium for years, thanks to Amie. Never got around to buying anything, sorta forgot all about him. I now have a new early morning album.
I mean, seriously, a toast to Ty Leitner, who aside from being an all-around good guy, has enriched my music library immeasurably.
Cheers, buddy.
And just because I love album covers, here they are...
P.S. The one year I didn't get a cd, he got me a real cool compilation book of Ray Bradbury stories, which deserves mention, too. I've been slowly making my way through it, saving it for times that I specifically want to read Ray Bradbury and nothing else.
