Doofy - The day is young! Although, I'm not sure I have any Alanis on my iPod. I did have the realization, though, that I MUST listen to some Hole so that will actually be up next. I mean really, is there a more quintessential '90s rock female than Courtney Love?
This is an example of what I said above - it's good, but I can't say I wouldn't have been just as happy listening to te last album more instead of buying this one.
IDK - probably, but on the whole I like Low better than Beach House and still managed to resist buying the new Low even from a $2.99 sale. Although by the time the next Beach House comes out, maybe I won't be drowning in Guvera credits anymore.
Craig do you have this? Joe at emu raved about it back in the day; I got the first 6 tracks (the original ep I think) from emu a few years ago, then mostly forgot about it. Then I went to find a Music Tapes album, because I'm reading the 33.333 book about In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, and this was on the same cdr, so I listened and liked and then found that the rest was on Guvera. So anyway there are worse ways you could spend some Guvera credits.
One of those albums that for me defeats the process of "listening to see if you like it". I am listening and all I know is that for my ear it falls somewhere on the range from "immensely annoying" to "absolutely fantastic".
GP, the first, "At the 2nd Fret," is excellent. It's a live date, but a good recording, at it has more energy than a lot of Terry and McGhee sets. I'm just getting started on Lightnin' Hopkins, so I don't know if it's the best (though I enjoy it a lot).
ETA: Allmusic has a lot of contradictory opinions of the Blues albums on Prestige/Concord. Many are rated 3 starts, but the written opinion can vary from essential to barely enjoyable.
Thanks. It's not my area really, but I did pick up an album called "Folk Blues Revival" on Amie that has McGhee and Terry on it, and really enjoyed several of the tracks. Family's all using the wifi now (= bad Guvera experience); I'll stream some tomorrow.

This is fantastic. Thanks, Lowlife!

Thanks, BN. I think maybe I still slightly prefer the studio version, but this is great too.
Sometimes I can't wait to buy a new album, and other times a new album reminds me that I haven't spent enough time with the last album.
Beach House - Bloom

amclark2 - I know what you're saying, but when the next Beach House comes out you'll likely be saying that about this one!

- Excellent . . .

I hear Ultravox's "Mr X" in "Alleys of your Mind", to the point where it seems derivative.
Ah. I see.

White Light on Guvera.

Music From Big Pink by The Band (since Gene Clark's cover of 'Tears of Rage' on White Light made me think of it). On Guvera, too!

Any guess what I spent 150 Gu credits on?
